2017-2018 University of Illinois

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
it went from being "forwarded" to "under review" to "final decision". And from what I've seen from others, their portal will notify them of their II.
Wow, I had no idea. Because mine says "Your application has been forwarded to the screening committee" since I completed on August 18th. This does not bode well for me. This basically means that they have not even begun reviewing my application yet. Does anyone have a decent idea of how long this process takes?

You go straight from screening committee to an interview invite on the portal so don't lose hope, sounds like they haven't made a decision on you yet but unclear if they've looked at you. I'm not sure what it looks like if you get rejected pre-interview. After your interview it says something about your application being forwarded to the admissions committee.

Anyone else with "Your application is under consideration by the screening committee."? I've had this status for almost a month now, not sure if it is a good or bad sign. IS LM 71ish

I interviewed this month, but other than the interview date being listed, there is no statement saying that the application has been forwarded to the admissions committee. Should I worry about it?

So it goes from "Your application has been forwarded to the screening committee" to interview invite if you get one. There are no other status updates in the middle? This seems to go against what others are posting.

It is exactly "You application is under consideration by the screening committee" or "Your application has been forwarded to the screening committee". The later sounds like it precedes the former.

Its exactly "You application is under consideration by the screening committee", perviously I had "Your application has been forwarded to the screening committee". Completed mid August

Yeah mine still says "Your application has been forwarded to the screening committee" and I have been complete since mid August. Feels bad man. I have had that status for 2 months now. I am hoping someone just forgot to update my status a month ago. With your stats and in-state status, I would think you should get an II.

I checked mine everyday and that was the case for me, unless there were a few hours between those two where it said something else. But on a Tuesday it said forwarded to screening, Wednesday it said interview invite, I interviewed that Friday, and a few business days later it switched to forwarded to the admissions committee.

I honestly don't know, maybe call in a few days if your current status doesn't change. Mine switched after just a few days. Maybe it has something to do with how quickly your individual interviewers complete their assessments? Honestly no clue though but good luck!

How long have people been under review for? Mines been almost 2 weeks now.
I was complete end of July and got an interview end of August. Was under review for about 2-3 weeks I'm guessing. If you submitted later, might take longer cuz of the increased amount of apps, so don't stress!

Mine has had the forwarded to the screening committee status since August

Does anyone know the turnaround time for Harlem post-interview? I think they said ~1 month turnaround but just wondering if decisions have come out sooner for some people.

I know that I am not entitled to an acceptance, but I need to know soon so that I can not waste time and money going to other interviews. This is really silly how they promise a specific date and not follow through, it really doesn't reflect well on the administration to me.

Hate to break it to you man but they are more interested in building the best possible class of students they can and less interested in an individual applicant's concerns. I know it must be frustrating to not receive an answer about your potential future at the time you were told to expect it but this process can be complicated.

It's not even about building the best class...Based on prior posts, they have already made decisions, but the portal system is STILL down.

Oh, this is news to me. So the portal system is down for everyone? Because I have been able to log in. But I haven't had an update in more than 2 months now.

Poor guy has too many interviews. What a terrible problem to have.

Im not sure if portal and system are the same thing, but reference posts #344 and #348 on this thread. They indicate a system error based on their contact with UIC admissions.

Yeah I was hoping I would get a status update at least on the portal since others are getting acceptance in their portals. Does this school send pre-II rejections?

Wondering the same. I've been "in consideration by the adcom" for at least 4 weeks.

Still better than "Your application has been forwarded to the screening committee" for 2+ month. I know they get a lot applicants but 2 months of screening is a long time.

Congrats to everyone who was accepted! Do you guys know if there is a way we can reserve our seat before 11/5 when the online payment system is activated?
