Secondary received 7/3/17 and submitted 7/9/17. IS applicant.

I actually hated this secondary the most. There are a lot of prompts to fill and useless information they can get from AMCAS. It doesn't surprise me though at all.

It was God awful. Took me every bit of 4 hours.

Has anyone contacted them about secondaries? It looks like they may come out in waves (referencing 2015-2016 thread). Kinda bummed out since this is one of my top schools, and I still haven't got one.

For the part that just says "Foreign Travel"... What are they looking for??? just a list? experiences???

can anyone tell me info about the school or perks? (other than stuff I can find on the website) i am an OOS student. Thank you!

Seems like another round of secondaries comes out today. For those of you haven't received one yet, today may just be the day!🙂

last year, interviews began to be handed out on the 27th. Hopeful for that.

I was hoping to use AP credit for Gen Chem I. My university provided 3 credits for the traditional course; however, I don't think I can find any record of my actual AP score. Anyone know if I am unable to use this credit?

Depends on the score. You should be able to get in touch with the AP testing company for record of your score.

How hard does this school screen? I am OOS and just received a secondary.

Has anyone asked about the pre-reqs?

My AP Bio credit covered most of my general biology, so I'm struggling with what would count.
Genetics should count, right? Too bad it doesn't have a lab.
I took Ecology and Evolution, which includes a lab and is one of the 'foundational' biology classes at my school. Would this count.
Finally, would Biochemistry courses like Macromolecular Structure and Metabolism and Biochemistry lab count? They're listed under CHEM, but Biochem is under Chemistry for us

Should I contact admissions or just put these down and hope it's fine?

Im sure its just any biology class with lab.

Personally, I feel it'd be better to be safe and contact the admissions office.

According to admissions, discrepancies can be explained by uploading syllabi and other documentation.

Last question: the checkbox under the Violations section will not save for me. Anyone else having this problem?

Those boxes will remain checked after you submit the secondary. But if you check the boxes and revisit the violations tab after visiting a different part of the application, then it will uncheck.

Did you figure out how to go about answering this one? I don't really have any foreign travel experiences, but I do intend to go on a trip later this year. Worth mentioning?

I just mentioned my experience travelling outside the country. If you're planning a oversea vacation, I think it'd be worth noting.

If I'm out of state, is there any point in even applying if I have no ties to Kentucky? 507 MCAT, from NY, 3.34 cGPa undergrad but did a post-bacc and got a 3.95 and currently doing cancer research in NYC. Can anyone weigh in? Thanks!!

I'm OOS and I have about average stats and received a secondary. I say go for it if you have the means. You'll never know if you never try.

I ended up just summarizing my foreign travel experiences by continent and what I experienced. I did it within a paragraph form. I dont have any upcoming plans, but I personally would've noted it if I did.

So, this is concerning for me. People with no ties getting IIs anf here i am instate with a lizzy M of ~70 with nothing. Turned secondary in the day it opened.

So even though my AP biology credit counted towards my Biology degree, we are required to retake these classes in college? Seems a little bit ridiculous to me. Didn't take any other bio labs in college since I received credit for them. Kinda screwed.

Yes, UofL's AP policy is a little annoying. Luckily my major wouldn't accept AP Bio credits, so I didn't even bother taking the test in high school. For English though, UofL Med School makes you take another writing class even though for undergrad they give you both gen ed English classes. That's my biggest gripe. It looks like they want students to take a class that resembles cell & molec, and that's why they won't take AP bio credits since that's definitely not covered in any AP bio class.
