There's a giant booklet on housing, it will be handed out at MS0 weekend and made available electronically as well. It will have everything you need in there to help you make your decision. A lot of students have pets, so they can't live at MedPark, but all the other apartment complexes around school allow pets (with a fee).
I already live in the Dallas area and my lease is up next month so I already found a new place to rent that’s 6 minutes away from the school! Check out Locale apartments. They’re beautiful and I found that they had much better prices than the other comparable surrounding complexes. They also offered me a waived application/admin/deposit since I’m moving there to go to UTSW. They also have units with private yards if you have a dog!
There are a lot of apartment complexes literally surrounding med park (the "on-campus" apartments), such as the southwestern. But if you google "apartments in medical district Dallas", you'll get a list of options. Some students live in uptown, which is a little pricier. And I know of a couple that live in downtown, which is a slightly longer drive. You can also check out west village and oak lawn.
The updated apartment guide should be available Friday, so there isn't much longer left to wait, you definitely don't need to wait until MSTP second look for that document. If I can get my hands on it before it gets posted online, I will send it to you.
Nothing keeping you from contacting a realtor and asking them to pick out a few places in your price range and geographic area. Make a long weekend trip to choose a place.

I think it starts slowly in April. Maybe a few lucky ones in very late March if Baylor accepts people around then and they (wrongly, obviously) choose to go there instead of UTSW 😉
They know your intent to possibly go there, otherwise you would have withdrawn your application already. That is why sending them one is not necessary, and I believe sending them a letter of intent after that email will only be negative for your application.
You can always call admissions and find out now that you got in! I don't think withdrawing would hurt in any way unless you needed this particular science class to meet the quotas. Just count how many science classes you've taken and if it's enough to meet the requirement, drop the class and don't look back, enjoy your life, med school is hard, don't make your last semester of undergrad hard too!
I sent one but I did it BEFORE they sent the email. I think once they send the email it just looks like you can't read instructions if you send one in anyway.
Are your acceptances from Texas schools, or out of state schools? Applies to Texas acceptances.
If you've been accepted to another Texas medical school already, then yes this applies to OOS students. For example I got into Dell but preferred UTSW, so I planned on coming to either Dallas or Austin to look for housing the weekend after June 1st depending on whether or not I got into UT Southwestern. (book flights through Southwest that way you can just cancel/change flights last minute without difficulty!)
I have an acceptance to UTMB, but I'm holding out hope for Southwestern.

If Baylor is moving, we will start moving soon too! There's always some die-hard Houstonians that get in here but prefer Baylor so they switch as soon as they get in.
The date at which a person with multiple acceptances must narrow it down to 1 is April 30.
you are right.TCOM is TMDSAS but if I left it off someone would say, "it's not an MD school, does it count?"

I don't think rejections come until 1. After June 1st if you have other TX acceptances or 2. Even later if you have no TX acceptances.
I don't see how there's minimal movement seeing how many people withdraw from Utsw for other schools especially the whole Baylor/UTSW overlap
That was what I was wondering too, but they worked on the committee for many years and said that they didn’t go down the waitlist as much. Weighing their word againist what I’ve heard at the interview is conflicting. Does anyone have a ballpark number of the waitlist students accepted?
