I had a lot of technical difficulties submitting my secondary, so I attempted contacting admissions last Friday to confirm my secondary had been matched to the rest of my application. I haven't heard back from them yet. I messaged them through the "contact us" extension inside of the portal. Is anyone else familiar with how long it takes them to get back to you?
 
Does anyone know how strict they are on the secondary submission within 2 weeks timeframe. I received the secondary a month ago and I am only now getting to it. I'm wondering if #1. They won't look at it since I've had it for so long and #2 if it's already too late in the cycle.

If you want to apply/attend here I would just go ahead and do it. While it's preferred your send it in within two weeks, they will definitely still process your app if it's sent in later. I think it's just those who return it within two weeks receive preference of having their file looked at a timelier matter. Interviews are given well into february, so if you've got the money, and want to apply, I would say go for it.
 
Grrr, just applied a few days ago and now getting the ''could not find person'' error..

Guess I'll just wait it out.. is the additional upload a CV? Trying to work on something until the error corrects itself
 
After you submit your secondary did any of you receive an email? I have submitted everything except Transcripts and the "Optional) MD:Addtl Upload for Committees" It just seems as if I'm missing something to make sure they know everything is there. Is there an additional overall submission or anything like that or how did you find out that you were complete?

I never received a complete email. I believe as long as you have the green check marks and a "Med in for Review" status, you are considered complete.

Do you remember how long it took for you to see your status as "Med in Review " after submitting everything?

If I'm not mistaken, immediately after submission. You should see it in the last tab that says "Admissions Decision." It'll give the date and then it should say "Med School in for Review." What does yours say?

Mine says "Med School App Incomplete (MI)" but I submitted my secondary application just this morning and it says it can take up to 24 to have a check mark there. Do you believe maybe that's why it shows as MI?

You should have the "MI" and it does indeed take >24 hours for it to update. WSU has a really strange application system.

yes they do have a strange app system. I feel a lot more calm now. Thank you for your input.

If it doesn't update by Monday (I'd give it til then because idk if they take the weekend into consideration), I would call. If you submitted your secondary and everything else is in, it should update by Monday though!

Has anyone received acceptance letter before their interview? I just received one to my wayne email...so confused.

Yeah that happened to me too. Portal change and an acceptance letter in my Wayne state email. I think it means you're about to get an interview invite (if you don't already have one). It happened to me and another user and after a day or so the portal status changed to interview to invite. I would check to see if a slot to schedule your interview has appeared on your portal. If not, from past experience, I would anticipate one 🙂

Gee, I sure hope they can get a refund for their amazing admissions software....
 
Do you guys use the same login information for the app portal as you do your WSU email? When I try to login to the email, it says my account has been disabled..?

lol it doesnt let me log on either to email.
 
Does anyone know if you are over 1000 characters in your secondary responses, if it will cut off the excess after submitting? It's allowing me to save more than 1000 characters, just want to make sure it doesnt cut if off after I submit.
 
Do all the boxes need to be checked in the portal to be complete? I dont have it check for the transcripts or the optional box but didnt know if that made me incomplete or not.

Those boxes don't need to be checked since transcripts aren't required until after acceptance, and the optional box is optional -- unless you added something additional, that box will remain unchecked. As long as everything else is checked, and your stats reads "Med School in for Review (MR), I believe you're considered complete.
 
The interview day sold Wayne State to me completely!!! Everyone was so nice and friendly. This was my first interview ever, and so now I can't help but think back to small little things I may have done wrong here and there. I want it so badly... hope I didn't mess up my chances 🙁

October 2nd! MMIs were decent, just scenarios nothing like train track ethical dilemmas haha. I didn't realize the MMI interviewers are not allowed to show any response/emote to your answers, so I felt like I was bombing it the whole time haha.

How long are you expected to talk for? Do they interact and ask questions in the middle or are you just supposed to just talk for the whole time allotted while they stare at you? Sorry for all the questions, I have my interview on Monday and am freaking out a little

Congrats on the invites. Completed 7/14 still waiting Wayne.
 
Just scheduled the interview and bought my plane ticket, I hope to see some of yall on 10/23! I chose the 8:00 interview time

Hey I wish I could answer all your questions in detail but I do not want to breach any of the contract I signed regarding confidentiality. But don't worry! I went in not knowing what to expect, and they kind of helped applicants get in the swing of the process. The interviewers are all very pleasant.
 
MR since July 29th! Does anyone know how many II's are they sending out this year? My application says "Pushed 1" 🙁
