So they will update this ranking twice? Am I understanding this email correctly?
Yeah, it seems like they have a pre-survey position. Then they will also release a post-survey ranking after people withdraw.

Also, I'm assuming waitlist positions are for traditional and pipeline applicants combined, right? Because if not, I'm number 270, and if there are people who were rejected post-interview, then the number of traditional applicants interviewed must have been over 10x the number of seats they're offering.

I’m 150ish, I’m thinking they basically waitlisted everyone who interviewed

I’m 20X. X for a number to remain confidential in case anyone from neomed knows. Will be withdrawing from wait list.

Last year they interviewed around 350 people and had 270 on the initial WL so people were either rejected post interview or withdrew

So is the WL different than the alternate list?

So are they picking about 40 out of this WL of about 200!!!?

Something like that yeah haha. We'll have to see how long the list is next week once everyone who doesn’t want to be on it has dropped

I'm kinda concerned that we haven't heard anything yet considering we're a decent chunk into May. Does anyone who's familiar with the linkage program know if they've finalized those seat numbers? I'm not brave enough to call and ask what the deal is with the waitlist lol but if someone else is I'm sure we'd all be grateful
They haven't finalized the # of partner program seats yet. Last year it happened in late June and early July.

The waitlist does not include partnership applicants, just direct entry (DE). The rising M1's from partnerships did their interviews/app process over two years ago... if they maintain a certain GPA and get the required MCAT score, they matriculate. For my class, there are about 15 DE students. The class above there are about 50 DE's. # of spots available for DE just depends on how the MCAT goes for partnerships students.

Just got the email with the new recalculated ranks. It does a good job explaining what's going on, but basically they've already made their first round of May WL offers but do still believe they'll make more throughout the summer. As for how many more, who knows. My rank jumped from in the 150s to into the 70s so clearly quite a few people pulled themselves off the WL.

Hey guys! Just figured I would let you know that my re-calculated waitlist position was in the top 5 and I have decided to take a recent acceptance elsewhere! Best of luck to all of you!

Weird, I have not received the re-calculated wait list email yet

Haha I think we were on the same interview day
Silly question, but did the students seem happy here? At my interview people were pretty stressed or talked about how "it doesn't matter if there's nothing to do in Rootstown since you're always gonna be studying anyway".

I just wanted to hear other people's thoughts since this wasn't the vibe I got at every school. But don't wanna unfairly base my decision off of a couple students who happened to be doing Q&A that day

If you visited from January to April, life was super rough then for our class. We were taking two hard science courses on top of 5 other non science courses.

I was a Friday March 1 interview if you were one of those! The last one of their cycle IIRC. Honestly it was such a weird vibe that day, never been in such a nice, modern building plopped in the middle of nowhere. I really wish I got more insight to what the people do in their free time, just how they live. All my college experience was at a big school.

But regardless, it's not like I'm gonna let the prospect of being slightly bored at times keep me from going to med school!

People go out in Kent, it’s a small college town. There’s also a small country bar down the street that has line dancing. Sounds super rural but it’s always fun to try something new. We also go up to Cleveland , it’s about an hour away. There’s are events on campus. The prom had a bar, dancing, stuff like that. Truth is most of the time you do study but if you’re on top of things, most of the year you can find free time to do whatever your heart desires (at least one day a week).

Oh and if you’re into outdoor adventures, there’s a national park like 40 minutes away CVNP.

The year goes by quick, for me it was fun learning all the med science but I found time to go kayaking, work out, kick a few back, and made some great friends.

Wanted to let everyone know I just got an email informing me that they intend to make between one and five offers between now and the start of orientation next week. I got this email because I’m within the top 15 at this point (started in the 70s after they’d cut people who didn’t want to be on the WL) and they want to know if I’d take an offer this close to the start

I just accepted an offer of admission. I was in the mid-teens on the waitlist. It seems this years list has some movement. Good luck to everyone!
Were you mid teens on the original waitlist or was this on the re-calculated waitlist after it dropped about 100?
