What does being complete for OHSU mean? Has a decision been made for II?
 
So I am OOS but well above their target GPA for their Mission Group and literally barely below their target MCAT for being considered in their Mission Group. Will my MCAT mean I’m out of the consideration for the IS and Mission group pool of students?

Oregon resident here. I interviewed last cycle.

From what I understand, they’re pretty much only going to interview mission based groups, which do include the high stats students. I’m not sure how lenient they are about an MCAT below their cutoff. My guess would be that you might be filtered out. However I would give the admissions office a call and check- they are super nice and very helpful.
 
I’m a reapplicant and for the adversity essay does anyone know if we are expected to rewrite this? I will likely change it in some way, but it is a bit of a challenge because a lot of the things happened so long ago and haven’t changed.

Are you referring to the resilience essay or the failure essay?
 
I really enjoyed this secondary. Submitted it on 7/14. Hopefully I get an interview
 
So, is it worth applying If you meet the superior achievement mission group but not academic as an out of state applicant?
 
II today! Complete 8/2. IS, reapplicant. I'm super stoked! I interviewed in February last year, so I'm a little nervous to be interviewing so soon- hopefully that's a good sign!

Dates offered were 9/18 and 9/20.
 
Anyone else stuck in incomplete limbo? Submitted the secondary well over a month ago, but my committee letter (which has also been available for well over a month) has yet to show up in the portal status.
 
Primary finally approved and secondary submitted!! IS, hope to get some OHSU Love!
 
Can anybody tell me if the OHSU secondary askes anything further about criminal convictions or arrests ?

Yes. They ask the following questions:

1) Have you ever been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor, including DUI?

2) Have you ever been found guilty except for insanity, mental disease, defect, etc. or not guilty by reason of insanity, mental disease, defect, etc. in any proceedings in which you were charged with a felony or misdemeanor, including DUI?

3) Do you currently have an arrest or criminal charge pending, including DUI, that has not reached final disposition in the criminal justice system?

If the answer to any of the above questions is "Yes" please indicate below the crime involved, any sentence imposed, and the year(s), state, county, and country in which the legal proceedings took place.

I was complete 7/27 and still haven’t heard anything... should I call? I’m an IS applicant.
 
Have any IS applicants who applied for the MD/MPH received an II?
 
Has about OOS applicants received an interview?

Mine hasn’t been processed either and I submitted 7/14. My guess is they are only doing IS applicants first.
 
Anyone know what days of the week OHSU interviews? I can't find it on their website.
 
If the portal states my secondary has been processed but I haven’t gotten an II yet, is it safe to assume I won’t be getting one?
 
Based on previous year threads OHSU typically interview instate applicants and Oregon heritage applicants first. Superior achievement OOS applicants can expect to wait until the end of December or early January. From last year's thread the first OOS applicant received an interview around 12/20 and there were a few other OOS applicants who got interviews within the following week. Moral of the story is if you are OOS do not expect an interview from OHSU this early.

That's interesting. I have not received a II and sent them an update today via email. They responded and said it has been added to my file.
 
Is OHSU one of those places that no news is good news? Applied mid-July and still nothing.
 
I think it’s normal if you’re OOS but mission based. Not sure about IS but I’m in the same boat.
 
Are the MSTP questions in addition to the MD ones or are they the only ones if you applying MSTP-only?

Definitely! They interview ~80% of all IS applicants. When was your secondary complete?
