I still haven't received a secondary here, but hoping to get one by the end of the week!
They said they're open through Wednesday, so hopefully we'll get one by then.

As I've said, it depends on the calculation. When I previously called they said "everything" is taken into consideration. I have different GPAs listed on AMCAS for undergrad, post-bacc, and graduate coursework (and different hour amounts for each), so it would really depend on what the admissions committee chooses to take.
I can only hope for the best now 🙂
We calculate a true overall from all coursework rather than look at any single career.
When you look at an app, do you weigh recent coursework more heavily? Like coursework done in the last few years versus coursework done 10-15 years ago.
The calculation is for all coursework that appears on the AMCAS.

I figured as much for screening. I meant after the application is complete (with secondary, LORs, etc) and the app is being reviewed to decide if an interview will be granted. Unless that's what you mean, and I'm just misunderstanding.
It means “I agree” or I could say the exact same myself.New to SDN, what does +1 and +2 mean?
Thank You! so I guess +3 !!It means “I agree” or I could say the exact same myself.
Since it doesn’t specifically say sGPA or postbacc gpa on the site, I would assume they are referring to cumulative undergrad gpa. Maybe @SOM Admissions will confirm.

Thanks for chiming in. Since we have an admissions member active on the thread, I think it’s best to let him/her handle these questions so we can avoid speculating, unless the information can be found online.
Thank you for clarifying. Sorry my original question was lost on the last page - I was curious if we would receive a courtesy email if we do not meet the cutoff for a secondary/interview, or if we would not hear back officially until the end of the cycle?
I’m very grateful for you taking your time here to clear our questions!
We will absolutely communicate with you on a rolling basis and not lead anyone on a path of indefinite status.
Hello SOM Admissions,
Thank you for your helpful and prompt responses on this thread. If we submitted our application last week and meet the cut off requirements for a secondary application, should we expect to receive an email from the school notifying us that our application was received? Or will we just receive a secondary invitation?
Just completed the secondary. Not feeling so confident on the audio questions...I feel like answering the first question went terrible and I had a shaky voice. I think I got more comfortable as it proceeded, but who knows. Time will tell. Good luck to everyone!

Approximately how long did the secondary take to complete?

Gotcha - your entire academic record is viewed and grade trends are considered.
Each question is individually timed once it’s started, but you can take breaks before starting the next question if desired. If you just complete them all consecutively without taking breaks you can finish before 45 minutes.
Good to know. Could you save it between responses and come back later?
The questions automatically proceed sequentially and you can't go backwards at all, not even to review what you said. Once the timer ends on a question, it will auto-save and proceed to the next question. That is when you can take a break if needed before pressing begin. After pressing begin, you have 60 seconds to read the question and then it will start recording automatically.
Congrats! 🙂Secondary received.
Secondary received.

Me too!Congrats! I keep neurotically checking my email lol.
Congrats!! When did you submit your AMCAS app?Secondary received.

My guess would be 1 year of free tuition...Just curious, but why would you send a primary if you've already been accepted to 4 schools?

Could also be an affinity for the mission/vision of the school too! 🙂
Secondary received. Submitted my primary as soon as the app was open last Monday.

Man, they must have gotten so many apps. I submitted my primary on Monday evening and haven't gotten a secondary yet. I'll just have to distract myself with lots of turkey lol.
I submitted about 3 minutes after the application opened and still haven’t received a secondary. I thought that was pretty early, but I guess not!!!

TCU alum, 20-minute commute from current home I own, and the fact that I do indeed like the mission of the school, which very much embodies the values of the undergrad institution, which is what drew me to TCU for undergrad.
