oh well that's weird. I'm not seeing anything on the website either... but I just wrote the counties I have lived/worked in that are in my definition of NorCal lol
 
Still no secondary, should I count my alma mater out? IS, LizzyM 68, UCDSOM research, verified 7/9
 
According to their website, interviews should have started today (Fridays starting Mid-August). Has anyone even gotten an II yet?
 
Something about the order in which secondaries are being sent out is really odd. I was verified 7/24 ie super late and got a secondary 7/26. I'm OOS, with average at best stats, and I see people here w much better and in state or alum verified way before me w no secondary. This stuff is weird. I submitted 08/07 but no status change besides they received my secondary.

I think with the secondary delay they prob would postpone this too? Or maybe its just wishful thinking :whistle:
 
Hey guys! Does anyone know if UCD lets regular MD students do rotations in Central California? I'd like to do rotations there, but I don't want to commit to REACH PRIME right now without being able to see the facilities. Thanks!
 
Reapplicant. Secondary received quiet early last year but still nothing yet. Submitted primary in June.

Any idea what the reasoning might be? I have a far better MCAT score and a lot more experience with underserved communities as well as medical experience.
 
According to last year's thread, UCD sent out ~2600 secondaries. How many do you think have already been sent out?

Don't know, but all the UCs are sending their wave of rejections so I'm feeling a bit hopeless on recieving a secondary from them at this point.

I just saw the UCLA was sending out rejections. What other UCs are today?
 
This is the only school I haven't gotten a secondary from and I went here as an undergrad 🙁 Should I keep being patient or try and call them to see if it's some sort of silent rejection? Although it sounds like many others haven't received a secondary yet either, does anyone know if they are still having some technical difficulties?
 
For the activities section on the secondary, I'm not seeing the description that gyngyn posted in the beginning of this thread. Do they want the 3 same activities I put on AMCAS, or ones that specifically led to an interest in medicine?

That description is from last year; it looks like it was a small change that was overlooked. My understanding is that it is not have to be the same 3 entered into AMCAS. If they are asking you to specify here, I doubt they are cross referencing and judging you for a substitution.

I gave up hope already, moving on pretend it's a rejection.

I think you guys are jumping the gun. There's plenty of people from July that are waiting to hear back (myself included) and I highly doubt they review the apps in order.

And if you read the previous post there was a big delay due to tech issues which means everything is behind.

Edit: FWIW I'm alumni and did a lot of projects with UCDSOM and the underserved.

I was verified on 6/4, an IS, and still haven’t gotten a secondary yet... I don’t know if they are still having technical difficulties or not but you aren’t alone

I don't think you should worry too much! I was in your boat- verified early July and didn't receive a secondary until yesterday. I don't think they're going in order
 
From what I can see, the admissions office is still in the sending-secondary phase and no II have been sent yet. Otherwise, there would have already been student-host emails going around to the med students and rumors of free lunch during interview days. Still very very early in the cycle guys!

Thank you for the encouragement. Trying to stay positive while waiting for a possible secondary from UCD (and other UCs).
 
UCLA alum, non-trad student (6 years out), 3.96 sGPA /510, II from UCSD- still waiting for secondaries from UCLA and UCD. Emailed both SOMs yesterday night- I'll post here what they respond!

I was verified 6/13, complete with LORs (committee letter) 8/2
 
Do you guys think it’s a good idea for me to call the admissions office to ask about my status?! I got the “primary app received” email early Jully. It’s only been silence since then. And I am really worried and tired of waiting for a secondary.

Primary ~7/10, secondary received ~8/10 and sent in a week later. I was complete when I sent in my secondary. Wasn’t in California for undergrad (moved here afterwards), but now I do live in NorCal

I only see one interview date in Sept. right now but I’m sure they will have others. Also, it sounds like the individual programs (PRIME, etc.) will contact us apart from the MD invite though I need to ask.
 
Right now, only September 14th. I called a little bit ago asking if other dates were going to be available and they said more should be up by next week (in the September-October range). I am hoping that me not taking the 9/14 date won't put me at a significant disadvantage.

Has no impact at this stage, no worries!
 
I submitted my secondary around 7/30. I hope I didn’t get skipped since people who submitted after me have gotten interviews.
MCAT 513, sGPA 4.0, cGPA 3.96, 4500+ clinical hours, 500+ volunteering, only 100 research.
 
Anyone from end of July get a secondary?

I was verified 7/31 and haven’t heard anything. I’m thinking they still haven’t looked at our apps?

Maybe. Or put aside for re review at another time. It is still too early to worry though! The first people they interview may be high stats or strong mission fits.
