Just be straight up with me here. MCAT 519 (2nd attempt), cGPA ~3.92 sGPA 4.00, Canadian, average clinical, non-clinical and research experiences. WARS ~71. Would applying here be a reach or just delusion at this point?

You have the stats... I say apply.

This is one of those schools where you’ll never really know. You just have to apply and see what happens.

"How many hours per week did you devote to employment during the academic year? "

Did you all put paid positions only? I assume that's what I should do, but just wanted to check!

Employment is typically paid, however if you had a non-academic internship (an internship specifically for employment experience) that was unpaid, put those hours as well.

application complete email received on july 16, when are these IIs coming? definitely don't want this one to be my first, but i do really want it obviously
Can you clarify... Did you get an additional "complete" email after the "supplemental application received" email ? It seems everyone else on this thread only got a "supplemental application received" as their last communication, even though their applications show as "complete" on the portal. Should we be expecting a "complete" email?

How long did it take to get a confirmation email after being marked "complete"

i just got a supplemental app received email and checked the portal for "complete"

I sent out my primary application on June 11th, and it has been verified for about a month now. I checked Harvard's website and it says they send secondaries to all applicants, but I still haven't received one. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is?

I would call them. this happened to me but with Northwestern and they said they sent it early July, but I never got it (checked spam, etc). she resent it to me while on the phone. I think it's late enough in the cycle that you can justify a call to them. good luck!

Hi everyone,

Late to the game here. Just received a secondary for this school.
Does it hurt at all to select both HST or Pathways? I would be happy with either, if it increases my chances at all for the school.
And when selecting either option (particularly HST), are there any other essays or application requirements specifically for that program?
Or is it the same general secondary essays for both

Thanks all

Do you have calc through diffeq? Also, if I remember correctly there is a research essay

Starting to think I have a shot at Harvard, is it too late to apply here?

and when or how do you get those essays (I assume this is only for the HST)
When you select the program you get another tab you have to fill out on the secondary. The essay is basically “how have your experiences prepared you for HST? (4000 characters).”

To everyone on this thread, may the force be with you all and even if you get in or not, just remember, there are students at HMS with 60+ publications apparently haha

appropriate to talk about family being rlly into alternative medicine and how thats prepped me to help interact w/ diverse populations for 2nd prompt or no?

Ugh they only do communication by email and they have not answered me for about 30 hours now.

did many of you leave the optional prompt blank? the one they say most ppl don't answer

im an orm but i have an essay about how my experiences with my fam prepared me for diverse patients

sounds like it fits or no? i kind of have a marginal app, so can't hurt right

Nah, just leave it blank.

Hi! A question for MSTP’ers here. On the secondary where we indicate whether we are applying to basic/translational sciences or social sciences, it allows me to indicate both. Is that a mistake, or can I actually apply to both programs?

Every fiber of my being is convinced that this is a troll. Last year and according to MSAR, they don't start sending IIs until September.
Didn’t someone earlier say the first interview is sept 9? So like II should be coming in soon?

You think Harvard is opposed to scheduling only one week in advanced? Also, since Harvard isn't rolling, no one is at a disadvantage if they don't interview super early, so it doesn't seem like the existence of that 9/9 slot means anything re: II dates.
