They absolutely do, but the closer you are physically (and remind them) the more likely you are to hear - typically a few days ahead of the interview.

Sent in my secondary. Was rejected here last cycle post secondary and decided to not send in my secondary again. The school said they were interested in my application recently so I decided to go ahead and pay the fee and sent in yet another application. Is it too late?

They have everything, including my casper. I just sent in another secondary app.

The school said they were interested in me too. I feel like they might just be saying that. Others reported the same.
I question school's interest

Sorry if this has been addressed before but I couldn't find much info, but in the activities section on the first page of the secondary has a drop down menu but you cannot edit the field. Were we expected to enter our extracurriculars there?

And can someone confirm that I need to submit this page --> pay the fee --> THEN write the essay?

Weird portal.

Weird portal.

The activities are based on whether you have participated in any activities affiliated/associated with them.

You need to write your essay on a different platform, convert it to pdf, and then submit/upload this pdf.

Hope this helps!

i've been on committee since 9/13 and complete since 8/22 ... is this a bad sign? i know they have filled lots of interview spots already so i feel nervous.
Not sure what you mean by "on committee" and "complete" unless my app status just reads different than yours.

For Status/Date I have Complete/ 9/4
And then I have a Decision/ Date that says No Decision/ 8/22

Does it say Committee under "decision"?

At first I read "No Decision" as undecided for the first round of interviews.
Now im wondering if it means the "decision" is "no". 😵

Also kind of weird that my decision date is before my status complete date???

Yes, "No Decision" should change to "Committee". This means your app has yet to be viewed by the committee/adcom/people. And you are right, the decision date should be after your complete date.

Interviewing this Friday, anyone have any insight regarding interview day?

Well, my status never went to committee, but its officially been 6 weeks from the "complete" date and my decision status changed to "Deny- Post supplement".
Im happy to finally be out of the dark about my app.

Good luck out there everyone!

I was offered admissions with the first group.
This is definitely an interview where you need to be in interview mode all day. Make sure your name tag is visible, you're extroverted as possible, and you're ready to be full of life and dynamic as possible. The lunch at the end is short. Choose to sit with a faculty/admissions someone who interested you. Be a good conversationalist. This school seems to structure its interviews to give students with low scores a chance to explain themselves. I didn't have much to talk about in that regard, but be prepared if you do. Other than that, just be confident. Fake it until you make it. You deserve to be interviewing there, by virtue of the fact that you've been asked to. You're not an impostor. Don't feel like one.

what would you say is a "low score" for DO or PNWU?

Anything below a 495 would be very low, anything between that and the current mean MCAT would be low borderline, mean-510 normal and beyond that high. My own assessment of course, and there's always exceptions, one being the MAMS folk who make up a decent chunk of the class from year to year and come in with lower stats than the direct-entry class but have already done some first year curricula.
510 is not normal, sub-500 would be concerning, 505+ is good for DO.

It is normal for it to take the full 6 weeks at this point.
So if I’ve been on “committee” for about 3 weeks then I could potentially be waiting another 3? Recently become concerned about “silent rejections”.

Congratulations on your admission! How many days after your interview date did you get the phone call?

I took the first interview date... can't remember when, like end of September 27? I remember at a presentation they said they do rolling admissions, which means the later you interview the fewer spots you interview for, so the competition goes up. The phone call came 2 weeks later on a Thursday.
If you're like 510+ MCAT, good grades, all the recs, you can wait a little and probably be fine. That $1,000 enrollment fee is pretty painful. If you're in the like 505 range, 3.5 GPA, most of the recs, you might consider going as early as possible.

So i've been on committee decision since 9/9, exactly 6 weeks ago from today. Is the decision supposed to come within 6 weeks?

I am also wondering this! Is this a silent rejection? They explicitly state the review can take 4-6 weeks so I was really hoping for a response by now.

Rolling admissions are almost more stressful, because you know they talked about you but you don't know if their thinking about you still or just rejecting you slowly. Hang tight. Continue to work on building experience/improving grades/whatever you need. I'm sure in January, after that Dec. 14 deadline passes, a lot more offers are going to be sent out.

What is the Dec. 14th deadline for?

Just checked my PNWU portal and it says I have been waitlisted since today's date :/ I interviewed on 10/11 and I left super confident as I thought I performed well and I am a WA resident wanting to go into primary care. Any advice on what to do next? I'm pretty distraught as this was my #1 choice.

oh no sorry to hear man. Luckily, it is early to be on the WL. Expect alot of movement as the year progresses. Send letter of interests/updates (if accepted) so you can eventually turn that WL into an A!

If I were you, I’d think of what your app’s greatest weakness is and work on that just in case this year doesn’t work out. I’m not saying it won’t work out but it’s better safe than sorry. Besides, adding more stuff will make the letter of interest that much more effective. If your stats are good, adding more stuff will only make your path to becoming a doctor that much more certain.

I understand what you're feeling bagels. This is my third year applying. There is still plenty of time in the cycle. I bet you come off the waitlist at some point. It's still early in the year and there will be 250 acceptances offered. Hang in there and I agree with sky138 keep working on your application improve what you can.

This is also my third time applying. I went from zero interviews the last two cycles to three acceptances and multiple md interviews. I’m almost 100% sure I’m withdrawing my acceptance and I hope my spot goes to you. Even if it doesn’t, know that you’re so much closer than I was and you still have time regardless of this cycle outcome

That's really exciting about your multiple interviews and acceptances, I can't imagine going through this more than once. May I ask how you improved your app to be more attractive for MD schools? May I ask your stats?

I am currently in a masters program for biomedical engineering. I think this has significantly helped my application.

my gpa 3.7 and MCAT 502. I have solid extracurriculars in all areas.

Just got put on committee. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a decision?
