2019-2020 Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU-COM)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Received an II, OOS. Earliest date that I saw was in March 2020, so I haven't decided if I'm going to accept it or not. 😛

Yay!! Im hoping my nervous energy soon turns into excitement. Looking forward to meeting you! 🙂
Congrats to you as well.
You bet. I have only interviewed here, but from what I’ve heard of other interviewees and current OMS it’s one of the more chill places to interview. Read over the post-interview reports that have been posted here, it runs the same. Remember as soon as you walk in the door to the moment you leave the campus maintain your professionalism and just be yourself - if they invite you to interview, they already think you have what it takes academically, all they want to know is what your app will look like once they greet to know you personally.

Does anyone have experience submitting an application before completing all pre-reqs, even if you are not currently enrolled in that class? Is this frowned upon and will prevent me from getting an II, or will the school simply question me on my intent to fulfill the pre-req requirements in an interview?

I have a few II with about half of the pre-reqs missing so I don't think it's a problem for most schools, but it could be for some. I think as long as your done with them before graduation you should be fine.

Noted, thank you!

At least for PNWU, they gave me a list of missing Pre-Reqs at my interview that I had to complete before starting classes. I think as long as you complete them by the Fall, then you're fine!

For me, as a non-trad who's been out of school for a good while, they were still very flexible and require finishing just by the end of the summer, before classes start.

Hi! If any Friday interview people wanna hang out, gonna be at this Starbucks! 🙂 probably now till maybe 6:00-6:30?!

Is there anyone who interviewed today who would want to meet up for supper at all later? I know everyone is probably super exhausted but it might be fun to destress that way! I thought about grabbing some Mexican at the restaurant next to my hotel unless someone wants to join and had a better idea.

I’m a first year but if no one else wants to get dinner you are welcome to come to my house for a meal and puppy cuddles.

I would have loved to but I left already. Were you at Wyndham?

I stayed at Wyndham! Man, if only we knew before

I remembered someone mentioning it already (might have been you even!) but I didn't have time to respond yesterday with flying in and driving to Yakima! Safe travels on your way home though!

Hey! I wanted to say thanks for your offer, but I did have someone PM me for supper!

it’s not an R until it says so but feel free to call in and check on it

About how long did it take you guys to hear back after submitting secondary?

True, probably will end up being that as it says committee decision 12 days later. But well see, thanks for the response!

Personally it took about 14 days but I feel that's atypical...

yeah that's atypical. Pretty sure I posted my dates earlier in this thread, but I got an II in early November, submitted secondary in late July.

It seems like they've been taking the full 2 weeks for post interview decisions based on old posts. Can anyone confirm or deny? I'm sitting here refreshing their portal at 2am

Yes normally it’s at least two weeks with occasional variation. My understanding is those accepted will be called first before the portal and the email/mail is done and they update the portal for rejections and waitlist as they wrap that up. Last year I interviewed Sep 27 and got waitlisted on Oct 16. I found out later that afternoon after my friends and most people accepted for their call.

I saw some other posts where the turnaround was only 10 days, but I think given the Thanksgiving holiday, we will hear back toward the end of the week. I've been rechecking SDN every day too, so I can empathize. Good luck!

Anybody have any idea if there are many interviews left here or where they are in the process? I found out about this school kind of late, and am wondering if it's worth submitting an app at this point.

They go until April, and I think people who got interviews at the beginning of last month were saying how the earliest interview dates were early March. But honestly if you fit the mission statement well, I think it's worth a shot.
