I'm missing something, what's D-Day?

All I meant was, Hopeful has a seat, Hopeful was good to go, and now this so close to the start of school. Hopefully, his/her waiver will be granted and Hopeful will be back on track, and won't have to re-apply next year. That's all I was trying to say. I am pulling for him/her.

I just realized that Hopeful-Premed is not the same person as Hopeful_premed311. I got the two mixed up. The only thing I didn't mix up is that they are both "hopeful". However, it is Hopeful_premed311 that has a seat and Hopeful-Premed just found out he/she needs a waiver. I think I need a shot of tequila, or maybe something stronger. 😀 Either way, good luck to both "Hopeful" pre-med people. You go!

Me too honestly, now im just passively waiting instead of anxiously waiting.
Same! I typically have my phone on "do not disturb" during the day and I had it on loud for the last two weeks, think it's time to put it back on do not disturb. That way maybe if I do get a call, it will be a pleasant surprise!

Call came a few minutes ago, missed it because phone on silent. Had to call Captain Liotta back on his cell. Still in disbelief, but so very relieved. Interview 1/9; put on hold post interview; wait listed March 9. Accepted for AF today, May 15, 2020. Hang in there the rest of you waiting. Hopefully, you will all be at USU on August 3rd.

Just got the call earlier today! I interviewed in the last interview date in February and was waitlisted after that. I was accepted into a Army spot today. Good luck everyone. Hope to see you all soon!
I interviewed in last date in February also and was put on the waitlist. Did they ever specify which waitlist you were on?

I was told I was on the primary waitlist. From my communication with staff it sounds like there is one waitlist and they try to match students based on their preferences as spots become available. But to be completely honest, I don’t know the true process.

Anyone that interviewed in November still on the waitlist? I did so I thought I would be just a lil higher on the primary waitlist but I guess that isn’t necessarily true lol

I interviewed in November, was put on hold, sent an update letter, then was put on waitlist in March.

The email we got from CAPT. Liotta says that there's an internal ranking system, so I'm guessing it's unrelated to the interview date or some timings...

Same boat. Must have been some rock stars that interviewed after us but I’m sure our time is coming. It’s getting close to officer training for all three branches so people that have two acceptances will have to choose.

CONGRATS!!!

Hey everyone, yesterday was exactly a year from when I got the call that I was accepted into USUHS and it made me remember how nervous and concerned I was up until that time. I know exactly how all of you feel because that was me last year. So I just wanted to come to this new page to let y'all know that if you haven't gotten in yet, do not worry. I felt the same way as most of you waiting on that one golden acceptance as if everything depended on it. But the waitlist at USUHS moves fast around this time and you should expect more offers to be made. I interviewed in October, waitlisted (primary) in November, and rode that waitlist all the way until may 16th which felt like forever but in the end it worked out, and hopefully will for the rest of you. Stay strong, and I promise you that if you come to USUHS you will consider it one of the best decisions you've ever made.

Hmm, now I'm trying to think of who you are....

Hello everyone,

Today I made the (extremely) difficult decision to decline my acceptance into the USUHS Class of 2024. I hope that one of you still on the waitlist can have this seat, and I wish you all the best of luck!!

I am sure that was a tough decision to make. Good luck to you where ever you attend medical school. Thanks for all your posts and support on this forum.

What, if anything, are accepted students doing to prepare for year 1 academically? I'm not going to start full blown studying now, but hearing what you guys are doing to prepare for the year will be helpful for me to know for later

Between all the paperwork we have to fill out, my job, and buying stuff for my new apartment, I am not doing any sort of prep atm lol but I’d like to hear of what everyone else is doing!

Well, just to name a few things, I've been:
Giving pets to my puppy (hands on lab)
Binge reading webcomics (endurance reading practice)
Catching up on the newest Star Trek (cutting edge medical technologies)
And doing a little figure drawing (to brush up on anatomy)
In other words, going pretty hard.

Hey yall, wait list warriors,

As I was walking to my car yesterday, thinking the day is done without any sign of a call, and I should be getting all the ducks in a row to submit a primary application again. Without much faith on getting a call, especially given its last two days leading up to memorial day weekend, I was driving as I got the call from CAPT. Liotta, that I have a seat available for me in the Navy.

I interviewed in late November, got the wait list letter maybe second week of December, until yesterday I was on it. As the month of May nearing the end I did not have much hope in my chances. However, here I am typing.

This thread has been a tremendous support over the last six months of waiting game.

Good luck to all of you, who are still on the waiting list. Looking forward to getting to know all of you who have been accepted already.

I know someone who DESPERATELY wants to get in.

They are waitlisted but also have an appeal for health issue.

Any tips or advice? Should they send another update letter?

For how long does the waitlist typically run?

That is great to hear and congratulations! I am in the same place and really hoping for that call.
