Has anyone that interviewed last week (the week of February 19th) gotten a survey or phone call or heard anything yet?

I've been going through the past threads and it seems like others have gotten emails, and calls. Does anybody know if they call when they want to get you off of the hold list?

In previous cycles, they have called to inform people of that. I wouldn’t expect any movement from the hold list until early May. For reference, last year about 20-30 people came off of the hold list. Before the new AAMC “traffic rules”, it was into the 70s.

That's later than I had expected. I thought by the end of April they would've finalized it :nailbiting:

Do you mean the waitlist? The hold list is made before the waitlist, and there is a good chunk of people that get accepted from hold right before the waitlist is made in late April.

In November

I submitted mine first day of October and I know a couple of people who did October as well and we haven't heard back either, that's why I asked. I guess we have a little over a month to get an ii ......

Can someone explain hold list verses waitlist with UT? I got placed on the hold list and am just not really sure what the differences are. How many people do they put on the hold list?

Yeah I meant the waitlist. I’m not sure how many people are accepted outright from the hold list (i.e. they never end up on the waitlist). The waitlist is ranked and created in May after the interview season has ended. It includes everyone on the hold list, minus those offered acceptances outright.

After you interview interview three things can happen: accepted, hold list, or rejected/declined. Hold list means the committee will take another look at your application at the end of the cycle and either accept you or place you on a ranked waitlist.

Awful. I keep hearing that they're slow with the application/interview process. But if it's true that they only send invites out until march for interviews in April, they're gonna be pretty backed up next month with interviews!

Got an email that all university-sponsored events are cancelled at UTHSC beginning March 23rd due to COVID-19. Does that include second look?

Also, will this affect upcoming interviews or the ones that have yet to be scheduled?
They've said thus far that the campus is still open, faculty and staff still have to report as usual (RIP me), but they also said all university-sponsored events will be cancelled starting March 23rd. Since the interview is just a small gathering (i don't think it qualifies as an "event"), I'm not sure that they'll cancel since the campus is still open, but I can't say for sure. Here's hoping they don't cancel - I'm still waiting for mine lol

I finally received an II yesterday, and today they followed up with a cancelation of said in-person interview. To be substituted by a phone or video interview that may be scheduled for a date other than my original interview date.
May work in your favor. They may feel so bad for this, they'll give you an A to make up for this. Good luck with the virtual interview! And congratulations!

Does anyone know if there is a Facebook page where accepted students can meet each other/find roommates and such?

Does anyone know what will happen with future IIs i.e. whether they will continue to be scheduled and just be virtual/phone interviews instead of in person?

Anyone know the latest on II's? Got a secondary but no II yet, I know people have been waiting a lot longer than me just wondering if there is any news in light of all the COVID craze.
