For people who've interviewed already, how many people were with you? Wondering if it's gonna be a small interview pool or large (like UVM)

Hi all, so I know this has been reiterated a couple of times already... But if you are in state and get a secondary, then is it almost definite that you will get an II? Has there ever been a case in which someone received a secondary and not an II?

I received a secondary and don't want to get my hopes up 🙂

Yes, that's exactly correct! And your II could come the next week or in February. Just as a warning, they will give you the very next week to interview

For those of you with interviews coming up, when did you submit your secondaries?

Anybody know where to send application updates?

^^^^^ also, if you started a new job, should you send an update informing them or should we only send an update if it is very significant?
I just mentioned a new job in the interview. You might try reaching out to Brother Strothers if you're waiting on an II. He's very receptive to communication.

I received a secondary invite a while back, but I'm still waiting on my II. What would I say to him to reach out about my II??

Was it a survey?

Not a survey, just an email from my tour guide dude. It just said "Hello from UTHSC College of Medicine!
It was great meeting you last week, and I really enjoyed giving you a tour of campus! I hope your visit went well, and that you enjoyed your time here at UTHSC COM. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about UT, Memphis, or anything else! Good luck with the rest of interview season!"

I'm sure it's nothing and I'm over-analyzing it, I was just curious!

Ahhh gotcha!! Usually, later in the season, the school will send out a survey before you get your acceptance/waitlist letter in the mail the following Monday or Tuesday.

I wouldn't look too into it! Seems like they wanted to reach out to be nice

I got it too after interviewing this week! I think it’s pretty standard and nice!

Wait so anyone on here interviewing next week (25-27)

Has anyone who is still waiting on an II emailed Dean Strother just to check in? I completed the secondary back in Aug but it’s been crickets since then..

Anyone know if UTHSC is receptive to updates/letter of interest?

Do you think it would be best to send an update letter as the body of an email or as a pdf attachment?

I sent mine as the body of the email but first clarified what I was sending and thanked them for being receptive to the update! I think either way is fine

Any Arkansas residents get II yet?

Has anyone who interviewed in November received the post-interview survey or a decision yet?

Any other in-state / Memphians just hanging around waiting on that II... :')
Chatted with a current student the other day and said they really do take all the time they can get, so don't fret and give up hope. I assume there a lot of us still in this boat!! Hope this offers a little positivity today

Not in-state, but a Memphian... feels even worse because I know how much rougher my chances are lol. Just gotta keep holding out hope!

yes..... I got my secondary and completed it on 10/1... so who knows when/if I will hear back

FWIW, they're meeting this Friday to go over all interviewees up to a certain point in the lineup. Then they'll send out decisions on the 13th.

Are our chances really that much worse?

When I interviewed on the 19th, they told us they were meeting the 22nd and sending decisions last Wednesday but nothing so far:/ hopefully the 13th pulls through!

I just mean that ~1200 OoS applicants competing for ~100 interviews (or whatever their 10% rule for out of state matriculants is) looks a little rougher than the odds if I were a resident of TN

I was also under that impression. Delays happen  two years ago the applicants from the first november meeting ended up waiting something like an additional 2-3 weeks
