That’s when those who have been accepted must pay their deposits to secure their spots. Those with multiple acceptances will cause spots to open and therefore people will get pulled from the waitlist.

This is a safety school for many people so spots will open up. I wouldn't worry too much about it for now. You still have a chance!

Isn’t waitlist movement going to happen in spring? I’ve never seen a thread say waitlist movement will happen in December?

This school tells some applicants they are on a “waitlist for possible interview” so that is probably it.

been thinking the same thing! I really liked the school and am a bit worried by how many people have been getting waitlisted lately 🙁
 
Hey guys and gals! Accepted Oct 14th, interviewed Sept 28. Maybe a strange question, but does UIW drug test their students?

Im not sure when the OMS-III's took their exam. I do have a friend that currently attends UIWSOM that said the administration said they performed well. This was told to me a couple of months ago however, and Im not sure they would have actually had the information to say that-- so this is all hear-say. What I have looked up is the examination dates with their respective score releases. If they're not particularly forthcoming about scores early on it may (or may not be) a bad sign. If you've been given an offer I would think you have full rights to inquire about updates with their program's scores. I would shoot them an email or phone call. And if you do, update us if you can! I only just interviewed and have not been given an offer so I am waiting before I get hasty with emails/ phone calls.
 
Those of you getting interviews/acceptances, what are your stats like? I submitted secondaries last week and I am just curious to see where I stand
 
Can any current students on here elaborate on the Admitted Students Day? Do students usually bring their family members with them? Is it worth going if I haven't made a decision on which school I will attend yet? What do you do that takes up five hours?
 
Some information on the waitlist from last year! I interviewed last cycle in November and was waitlisted about 2 weeks later. Waitlist movement was very minimal until the spring. (I unfortunately was not accepted off the waitlist.) The waitlist did not move in order from when you were added to it. I believe it is ranked. Hope that helps and good luck to you!

Off the top, I believe they said Baptist, Christus, and Methodist. I’m pretty sure there was comment further up about rotations from a 3rd year.

I interviewed on 11/1 and they said it would be a minimum of 3 weeks before we hear a decision

I did too. (interview 11/2)

But I want to make this known to people in this application cycle. Don't take a Waitlist (or lack of acceptance) as confirmation of a bad interview. It could go perfect and you could still receive a waitlist. Your application is still a heavier consideration overall-- I think I was told the app is 80% and the interview is 20%? I know there are people that apply to UIW with the intention of it being their "back-up" school and are VERY competitive. So heads up to those with R/WL's and congrats to those with acceptances! Hang in there everyone, there is a lot of WL movement. Take/celebrate your post-II response and stay positive for future Interviews!

Second year here and I can confirm mid-February, that's what they told us as well. The reason they have waited is because some third years haven't taken it yet, since the school gave them a December deadline to complete them (not the case for our class, we have to complete by July 1, 2019). Those that take it in December will receive results early 2019, so the mid-February date is so the school gets all the scores.
 
@Darkhorse1525 @cwillzz I'd say a good thing if I had to guess. If it was an R they would know right away, otherwise people wouldn't be getting WL. They're probably adding on to the WL list until they have the last cohort of acceptances they want solidified. (Only a guess)

Is this school mainly a safety school? I was accepted but have yet to find any board scores. Does anyone know when it will be released?

When did you get accepted?

Scores will be released mid-feb
 
For those of you on waitlist, have you sent in any updates? I feel like I should send an email just to show I am still interested in UIWSOM, but I have a job which I have already spoken about at my interview, and otherwise nothing significantly new has happened in my life. I know people say you shouldn't give updates unless they are significant, but is it really ok to just stay entirely silent for months?
