This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
did you happen to screen shot all the info about that days schedule. I thought the info would stay after scheduling the interview but it didnt
No! I wasn't provided any information on the format, times, etc. I thought that was kind of odd. I'll probably give them a phone call this week about that.

So I emailed the admissions on what we're doing on our interview date. I'll post the info once I get a response

UPDATE: This is what they emailed back
You will get that information in the interview email in 2-3 weeks.

Interviews do tend to last a full day: 9-5pm but with virtual interviews that has changed.

I've been able to get in contact with a current CUSM student via Instagram. According to them the interview is pretty chill and they asked questions along the lines of:

Why medicine?
Why CUSM?
What do you know about the Inland Empire and its population?
What's your position on practicing in underserved communities?
How can you contribute to your entering class?
What are your future plans?
And items of your resume....assuming they have access to your application

Hope this helps!

would it be bad to state an interest in surgery for this app? idk if they are focused on primary care. their website doesnt rlly mention such a focus
As long as you talk about it passionately, I don’t see why not.

Haven't received a secondary, verified early Sept...should I drop them an email??

do you think they only release couple blocks of dates at a time for interview? @sf34 said he didn't see any december dates when he scheduled but someone else did
I'm not sure, I think they only show you one month at a time cuz I didn't see any January dates.

Hmm I submitted on 9/9 but haven’t heard back. Perhaps they review applicants out of order?

So I emailed admissions about a personal letters of recommendation question. They replied and actually said that 3 letters are required but you can submit as many as you would like to. I’m confused because on MSAR it says 3 letters max?

Can anyone confirm if we can submit more than 3 letters or is it 3 letters maximum?
Did you ever find out how many letters is the maximum? I assumed it was 3

II received today LM 73.2 WARS 94 IS

Did not submit a secondary, so I guess my primary app was good enough? lol

EDIT: proof of II w/o 2º below

Holy crap – I got an II without a secondary, too. I got an email today and thought it was just a reminder to finish my secondary... I wouldn't have even logged into the portal if I hadn't seen your message. Pleasssseeee don't let this be a technical problem lol.

For anyone who's curious about dates, the earliest available when I looked just now was January 8th.

Edit to add stats:
IS, (very) non-trad, LM 79

im so confused as to how theyre scheduling in january....

Me too. I think it is very unfair that people received II's without submitting secondary applications.

I wonder if this was a technical issue, and that may be why all the dates are already at January. But who knows... hopefully the admission committee is aware if there is an error.

I believe it is an error. I think the same thing happened last year.

Did they end up revoking the II's? Or do you mean the scheduling system has an error? Thanks for letting us know. I'll check out last year's thread

I emailed the admissions office immediately after getting the II w/o submitting my secondary, to clarify what's going on. So they should be aware of it, as soon as they check their email on Monday.

Thank you, I hope everything goes well with your application

Wow...just the fact that they'd let *that* egregious of an error happen two years in a row (if it was, in fact, an error this year) makes me question a lot. Guess we'll see what they say.
Yes, I totally agree that it's frustrating. I hope for your sake it's not an error!

I honestly didnt look past septe

"She" 😳 and I honestly didnt look past October. I wanted the earliest date possible. I also submitted my secondary as early as possible just because of everyones advice

I received an II on 9/22 and the latest date I saw was 12/18.

Current med student here, to those of you who have interviews coming up, make sure you know your app well. It's 1-on-1 and they'll ask the traditional questions (why medicine? why this school? etc.) and they'll ask about stuff on your app. Half of my interview was just talking about my research projects even though I don't like research that much lol. Good luck everyone!

II today! Complete 9/12, IS (IE), Only dates I saw were in January..... and yes I submitted my secondary 😛 lol

Does this school heavily screen? I was verified on 9/11 and still haven't received a secondary. Is anyone else still waiting for one?

Are you OOS or IS? Because I don't think they've sent out any OOS secondaries yet. I emailed to double check that they received my app and they said:
"Thank you for contacting CUSM-SOM.
There are no updates to your application at this moment.
If the committee requires additional information they will reach out via email."
