I haven’t heard anything. Expecting waitlist at this point

Well if they decided to waitlist you they prob woulda notified you by now so I think it’s more likely they haven’t looked at your app yet. At least that’s what I’m telling myself after interviewing on 9/11 and not hearing anything

To those who haven't gotten an email yet, they very well might not just have reviewed your application at this month's meeting. My email came right at 8:30 (start of business hours I assume), so I think it was automated set to that specific time. I imagine all decisions would've gone out at that time as well. At least, that makes the most sense to me.

Does anyone know how often CMU meets to review applications? like when is the next acceptance day?

I think you’re right too. After being waitlisted at Michigan I was really hoping for some good news today. Congratulations on your acceptance though!

I think they met in late Sept for the first 2 interview dates (9/11 and 9/26 IIRC) for Oct 15 decision release. I think they meet monthly, so next decisions should go out in November. I THINK. This is what I got out of their explanation.

Thank you!! Think of it this way: a non-decision just means they haven't looked at you yet. Waiting is hard, but they haven't rejected you.

for my fellow interviewees who are still waiting to hear back, the next 2 dates they released decisions last year were 10/22 and 11/5 fwiw
Thanks for mining that info from past threads! I was wondering.

(But now I have two more dates to be anxious about, lol!)

Can anyone confirm that all we have to do to hold our seats (right now) is click the "I accept" button on the portal?

Quick question for y'all: When you answered the "Please provide a brief summary of your affiliation with any County selected" question on the biographical data part of the application, did you all do it in like an essay format, or were you more straight to the point in talking about what your affiliation was?

I went straight to the point. 🙂

Now that I think about it, what should've been different between my re-applicant essay and my "what did you do since degree completion" essay?

I feel like they want to know how you've improved yourself to re-apply and that would be for the re-applicant essay. I can totally see how those essays would overlap a bit though.

I wrote a bit of a love letter to Michigan, specifically about the counties i had lived in. I just made sure it was short and sweet and to the point.

Does anyone know if CMU accepts application updates pre-II? I see a spot on the portal for updates but I can't find anything on their website about any specific rules for submitting updates

Hey everyone, I'm sorry if I missed this earlier in the thread, but did anyone send a thank you after their interview? Just wondering if I should e-mail or upload to the portal. Thanks!

I am not 100% sure either, but I think if it is a meaningful update and shows specific interest in Central it wouldn't hurt!

is anyone complete since July and has not yet heard anything? does this mean i am not going to be considered for an interview?

No, the day of submission of your application generally does NOT have an effect on when you are reviewed. You may be assigned to a reviewer who is either really busy or just procrastinating. In addition, different schools have different categories (i.e. legacy, URM, vet, high stats) to review and send out II to those students. I'm not asking you to share your stats here, but just pointing these additional factors that are outside of our control to explain why you haven't heard back yet.

Is this school open to receiving updates/letters of interest post-interview?
