How long does DMU take to mark a secondary complete after receiving it? I received the secondary portal access about 2.5 weeks ago. Unsure if I should follow up with the school?
Also, I did not take the casper and do not intend to.

I submitted my secondary on 9/24 and was complete on 10/13.

CASPer is optional. 🙂

Has anyone who has applied a little late had any success? App marked complete last week, Missouri resident with almost all of my family from Des Moines. 3.5, 3.7, 518. Hoping this COVID cycle will be a little more forgiving of a late application.

during a normal cycle, “on time” for the DO cycle is considered having everything in by thanksgiving. however now, the timeline is pushed back a ~month.

timing wise, i feel like you’re still in a good position. plus w/ those numbers, you’re more than fine.

I'm sure you'll get love with numbers, but unfortunately having IS connections won't help sine DMU is a private school.

I’ve been complete since 07/31 and still haven’t heard...is this a silent R? Also MN resident

Complete 8/17 so I'm pretty sure I'm past 90 days and still haven't heard anything...should I assume it's an R?

I was complete 7/31 and got my II 11/4, 98 days. I probably wouldn’t stress until you hit ~120 days. Just like all schools, I’m sure they’re swamped with apps and are taking longer to get through everything.

Maybe they forgot about us up north! Also from MN with same complete date, but haven't heard anything
Hang in there! Also MN and the wheels turned VERY SLOWLY. Completed in August but didn't hear anything for 2 months. Then got the Kira link and finished Zoom conference 2 weeks ago. From past DMU applicants, I have heard that the process can roll on in to January and February.

Is there a mcat pre-screen for this school? A resident here and I live 10 minutes away, would love to go to school here, but mcat sub 500 : / Either way, I'll try my luck, and I'll let you guys know haha!

sub 500 because of cars (English is second language) - i blame it on that xD

No, not generally. They like to look at the applicant holistically. A strong package with great grades, LORs, ECs, etc. carry a lot of weight. So a strong package has just as good a chance with a "sub 500" MCAT. That being said, the MCAT is also used to determine the likelihood that the applicant can succeed with the rigors of Med School. So while a lower MCAT may not rule one out, a score that is exceeding low could be seen as a concern. 500 is not "that" low. So, if you really want to go to DMU I would say apply and see where it takes you. With no application it's a certainty you won't get in. Remember, it doesn't always happen the first year of applying as well. Many, many good quality applicants have to persist and reapply. If that is necessary, it's not a reflection on you as a less worthy applicant. Just use the time to strengthen your application, retake MCAT, etc. and make yourself a stronger candidate. Just my opinion... Hope it helps and Good Luck!

Starting to wonder whether the figures I’ve seen on acceptance post-interview of 60-85% might be closer to the 85% mark. I know SDN is a small sample size, and more people will want to share their A vs R, but I don’t know if I’ve seen any post-interview rejections on here. I’d be thrilled if this was the case.

There is at least one post-interview rejection, and definitely some WLs, posted above, but point well taken.

Submitted my primary last night... hopefully the admissions committee will be lenient on late submissions 🙁

Hi everyone,
I applied a bit late to DMU... got my complete email in early Nov. Any suggestions on the earliest when I may hear about an ii or pre ii rejection? Email said 90 says, but from the looks of the thread some people are hearing much earlier or later than that.

Thanks!

I got my complete email 10/13 and I'm still waiting at this time. We shall see. 🙂

Does anyone know when interviews end for this school?
