so for those that interviewed late september but didn't get their acceptance today, is it safe to assume that they reviewed our app but we just weren't good enough to make the first cut? and now they're gonna just match us up against a later round of interviewees and compare again for the nov. 20 decisions?

This is my assumption as well.

Does anyone know if the $100 deposit is refundable? Also we have 21 days (3 weeks) to make that deposit and accept, right?

I think its non-refundable

typically these things aren’t, honestly 100 dollars seems like a lot but considering it holds your spot in a med school and gives you time to explore options I say its worth it

Besides, rank your campus choice quickly homie if you wanna get your top choice!

Do you know how the rankings work for campus? Is it first come first serve? I had heard we don't find out until we actually commit, is that true?

Just making sure, we have to confirm our "deferred" status in the portal, right? What happens if we don't do this step?

Has anyone who interviewed early October received the deferred email today?

I did and I haven't received any emails yet.

EDIT: Nevermind, just got it around 1PM PST. The waiting game commences once again, haha.

Interviewed end of September and nothing so far. I guess I’m going just have to keep looking at this as good news until it becomes badnews

Deferred just now. Interviewed 9/30

Does Drexel actually accept deferred applicants every month or only in the spring?

Checked on last year's thread on Drexel and it seems like they make some decisions on the deferred list every month or so. From what I've seen so far, a good amount of people do get accepted after being deferred, so keep your head up! It's not over yet until they make a final decision. 🙂 👍

Is it safe to assume that the deferred status for early October interviews simply means that we'll be reviewed for a later release date? Or is this the near equivalent of a waitlist (i.e. should we send an update letter/LOI soon?)

I would say the former. Not sure about update letters/LOI, but I don't think it would hurt. Here's a quote from the past thread differentiating the two if it'll help ease some of your worries.

Deferred - they haven’t made a decision on you and want to wait until the next admissions meeting to revisit your file once more people have interviewed.

Waitlist - an actual decision...which is waitlist lol.

Deferrered is a lot better than WL!

Brian told us in the interview that they’re going to be deferring a lot of applicants this year early on and that it isn’t a bad sign. He also told us roughly 50% of people who interview will get accepted so stay strong friends!

I interview for Drexel this month. Would love to hear how other people's interview experiences went.
The experience is pretty chill. The information sessions were really informative and gave me a lot of material to ask questions during my actual interview. Be prepared for a whole day affair because my faculty interview was supposed to be 2pm and got shifted to 3pm instead.

are the interview invites chronically or random or will we never know lol

Does this school reject applicants with sub 500 mcat scores?
