Can anyone comment on the 3rd + 4th year clinical rotation sites? Does anyone have any knowledge on the ones close to philly vs further ones?

I spoke with someone who is currently PGY-1 who mentioned doing most of his rotations in Reading (by choice). He also mentioned they typically reserve the more distant regional locations to people who have family in those areas. Those students typically do all or most of their rotations in the regional locations.
I would caution you against using anyone's current insight on rotations because there has been a lot of change between that PGY-1's time and there will be even more change before the incoming class hits M3.

There are people who prefer the all-year sites for stability; there are people that prefer rotating through sites for the flexibility of choosing specific sites for specific clerkships and networking potential.

You won't be sent to an all-year site that you don't rank. If you only want to go to Crozer, Reading, or Pittsburgh, then you can rank only those three and leave the rest off of your list. The caveat being if you don't get assigned one of those three, you will be rotating sites.

"Family" does not give anyone an advantage to be placed anywhere unless they are the "primary caregiver" of said family. I.e. if you have a child/parent/other family member that depends on you being available for their wellbeing, you won't be forced to move away from them.

How is everyone coping with the post-interview wait times? For me, it’s either Drexel or a DO school. For others, it seems like it’s either Drexel or a reapplication. Just crazy to think that so much is at stake and on the line for so many of us.

Also I had a question about letters of intent. Do we only send these if we are waitlisted?

I interviewed back at the beginning of March. Currently entering week 8 here and I have yet to hear back at all.
I also interviewed early March and I'm almost at 7 weeks. Even if you interviewed March 1, it would be 7 weeks today by my count. Also, I'm hoping that it's not all WL from here on out 😫

I'm really bummed that they are only wait listing people who interviewed Feb and later🙁 I was really hoping to get an A here and interviewed April 2

They could just be waitlisting more ppl and then accepting them later. I imagine most of the people who get pulled off from the waitlist are feb and onwards interviewees. I don’t know though. Just me and my tin foil hat.

Or because they have interviewed quite a few people the last two weeks they are still trying to decide who to accept while giving everyone a chance

there's also a bunch of people who interviewed pre-Feb sitting on the WL

Or too many people are rejecting their acceptances to go else where so Drexel is waiting till April 30 before extending more acceptances. If you’ll look back even in this thread, lots people are not going to Drexel who were accepted even if they got scholarship money.

Here’s to hoping those who are waiting will get some sort of scholarship

For anyone interviewing today, are you able to see your interviewers' names and times yet? I'm curious since the agenda page says "The Zoom link above, and both faculty and student interviewer names and time will be available a day or two before the scheduled interview date."

Edit: Nevermind! The names and times were released about 30 min before Authentication!

When I interviewed last week, the admissions person said that they still had open spots...not sure how many, but she did not explicitly say we were interviewing for the waitlist

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that everyone is automatically placed on the waitlist right after April 30. So unless you're accepted in the next 10 days, you'll be on the waitress regardless of when you interviewed. The open spots will then go to those pulled off the waitlist to compensate for the students who rejected Drexel's acceptance.

Also apparently they're reserving some of the open spots for the students taking Drexel's post-grad programs with guaranteed admission...

How is it guaranteed admission? Everyone I’ve heard of is guaranteed interview, not admission.

If those spots are reserved though then I don't think they would include them in the total number of "open" spots left but I could be wrong. I also interviewed in the first week of March so hopefully just over a week before I can expect a response.

For what it's worth, I interviewed in mid-January and I just heard back a week ago (13 week decision turnaround time), and I think they are only up to releasing early Feb decisions (per previous posts on this thread), so it might be a while still.

Anyone else from a 2/3 or 2/4 interview still waiting to hear back? I don't know what to make of the silence... lol

Haven’t heard back since I submitted my secondary in august. Submitted a few updates over the past few months. Are they still interviewing? I’m assuming it’s an R but just haven’t gotten the official R yet
Believe when I interviewed yesterday I was told that it was the last day they were interviewing

in case anyone has questions about CYMS, my brilliant advisor sent me this video, created for advisors. walks through different scenarios and tells you exactly what schools can see after 4/30
