How low is low? The pre med journey is one that makes people feel inadequate and yes performing well is important but I believe Meharry is a school that knows that it isn't just 3.8 and above that has promise as a physician. They also know it's a journey and there may be other factors that impacted your performance. They really are quite understanding and they try to pinpoint applicants who TRULY meet their mission. I'm technically a low stat applicant as well: 3.2 sgpa 3.53cgpa and 502 but as of now I'm still in the running! Lol we will see how it works out in the end though. What were your stats?

I think that means it is complete. I received that and then another that said "thank you for completing your online form" then ANOTHER that said " On behalf of the School of Medicine Admissions Committee, I wish to thank you again for the time and effort taken in submitting your application for admission to the School of Medicine at Meharry Medical College. There are a good number of non AA Students in each class in the medical school. You really HAVE to match up with mission, values and motto. Meharry is truly about the community so you have to demonstrate that you are too
Well if you look at their stats you will see the first year class is usually predominantly black but there are people from other demographics. I guess it depends on if they can sense you have a GENUINE desire to attend there and can convince them of why, as well as a commitment to underserved communities. Like any other school, it's a gamble of whether or not your total package will convince adcoms. It's truly very hard to give a hard answer to this question.

Meharry has been like this for a long time. This is the reason I ended up going somewhere else, but they are a great school. I have friends who go there who say that the administration is aware of the complaints and are trying to do their best to fix the issues.

Not necessarily. Their website says they definitely need your scores by the interview date so you could get an invite before youve taken it then but try to plan accordingly so scores are in. Honestly just take it as soon as you can.
