OMG. +1. I interviewed on 8/31.
Congrats! I wonder when we’ll get the email or call. I’m guessing tomorrow!Guys!!! I got it just now. After all day of being blown!!! Interviewed way earlier than most. Don’t be neurotic if you find yourself in same shoes
same!! i hope the email comes today though so i know its OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL LOLCongrats! I wonder when we’ll get the email or call. I’m guessing tomorrow!
Holy cow, I have the accepted checklist too with a deposit due date and all that. No email or anything else yet. Interviewed 9/2/2020. Does this mean it's real?First off I do not want to freak anyone out. If you look at last years threads, it’s clear that the acceptances were not given in order. I interviewed last week and just saw the accepted student checklist in my portal. Not gonna celebrate yet until I get the official email or call tho!
Judging by last years thread of this school it is. Students saw the accepted checklist first and then it was followed by an email or call or both. Just not sure on the timeline of when the official email or call is expectedHoly cow, I have the accepted checklist too with a deposit due date and all that. No email or anything else yet. Interviewed 9/2/2020. Does this mean it's real?
It’s def real because you can sign a matriculation agreement and like pay the deposit and everything!!Holy cow, I have the accepted checklist too with a deposit due date and all that. No email or anything else yet. Interviewed 9/2/2020. Does this mean it's real?

I was wanting to add this school. I have a good gpa and EC’s and I’m an Arizona resident. But I have a low MCAT. Do you know what the lowest MCAT is for one of your accepted classmates?Congrats to everyone who’s submitted their application and has received an interview. I’m an MS1 at AZCOM so if you have any questions about the school, I’ll do my best to offer some insight!
to those who got the accepted checklist, is anyone else also repeatedly checking their portal just bc it doesn't feel real LOL i think i've checked every hour haha
I'm wondering this too 🙁Do people who got waitlisted for an interview typically get an interview eventually?
To everyone who got the acceptance checklist yesterday, it's official y'all! Just got the acceptance email right now!
same lolNice! Still impatiently waiting haha
I’m sure ours will come! I was the first to post about the checklist and still haven’t received an emailI told myself after get checklist 6 hours after everybody yesterday I’m not going to keep going on sdn getting neurotic about things. But here I am getting neurotic about not getting email yet. Haha

You are not alone lol gonna try to do a lot of school work to keep my mind off of it. I have alerts for my email set up so just gotta wait for it to happenIt’s wild how sdn can make time come to stand still.
right!!? now i’m questioning if maybe my checklist was put by mistake Lollll. I don’t really think so but also a part of me is like ~ yeah it was a mistake sorry ~It’s wild how sdn can make time come to stand still.
I think the fact that a lot of us are in the same boat rn is a good sign! I don’t think it was a mistake for all of usright!!? now i’m questioning if maybe my checklist was put by mistake Lollll. I don’t really think so but also a part of me is like ~ yeah it was a mistake sorry ~

Our class doesn't really talk about grades or scores, and nobody really advertises what they got so unfortunately I don't know. I can tell you that I took the MCAT three times and my scores were 500, 504 and 507 and my gpa was 3.8xI was wanting to add this school. I have a good gpa and EC’s and I’m an Arizona resident. My roommate and I are both OOS students but it has affected us in different ways since I'm from California and they're from someplace further away. For me, the pros of testing every week means you stay up to date on the material. being presented in class whether or not you actually attend the lecture. Additionally, the content gets spread out in manageable pieces so you're not being tested on like five weeks worth of material in one exam. If you're like me and have testing anxiety, the frequency of exams has somewhat lessened my anxiety about taking them because we have them so often.hey! Can you or any other student lurking here speak to the “testing every week” thing and how it effects your school/life balance? Also maybe some general pros and cons? This would be especially helpful hearing from OOS students as the student panel we had on interview day was all AZ students, and their main reason for going to AZCOM was to stay close to home

The cons for me would be you feel like you have to constantly be studying, because the exams are happening every week and you have to figure out what is worth prioritizing. There are people in our class who sleep maybe four hours because they're studying all the time, there are some who binge shows for a few days and get behind on material -- you have to know yourself and find the balance you need to get through the quarter. Like my roommate likes to socialize and go out, I'm more of a homebody and can sit for hours on end without talking to people.
Some general pros about the school: people are very friendly and approachable, this includes faculty. before any exam they will host review sessions where you can ask any question you like and they'll answer it even if you think it sounds stupid. they will even answer any questions via email on the weekend which is something that surprised me, and will also take the time to address your concerns about a particular course. we also have big sibs who you can talk to about anything (though this might be a thing in most schools idk)
General cons: the weather sucks because it's really hot all the time (not a school thing but yeah), the general feeling that you don't have time to do anything else
COVID has kind of minimized my FOMO because nobody is really doing anything like partying or hanging out :/ Anyway, I've rambled again, but I hope this has been helpful! If you have any specific questions, you can dm me
I'll preface this by saying when I submitted my application to AZCOM last year, I had fortunately already been interviewed and accepted at another school. I wanted to avoid AZCOM at all costs because many of the things I had heard regarding the school including the frequent exams (because I have testing anxiety). However, I ended up applying because I've personally worked with physicians (in the ER) who graduated from AZCOM and they were brilliant (though maybe my impression was clouded by premed admiration). Being from California, I also like that we do have the option to rotate back out there whether in LA or the San Diego area, in addition to Chicago and Arizona. I would also consider the support system you have in the area. For me, I'm fine with being alone but I know people who have taken being away from family pretty roughly so factor that as well when you make your decision!this is really helpful, thanks! One last question, what made you end up choosing AZCOM out of state over whatever other options you had?
Congrats! Still waiting on mine but you guys are giving me hopefinally got the email!!!! 🙂))
Just got the email! Can’t believe this moment is finally here!
ITS OKAY! i'm sure you will soon 🙂. just try to calm yourself!!!Ahhh lowkey freaking out cause I haven’t gotten the email yet still :/
I feel that - haven't gotten an II, WL, or R yet 🙁Man... all these acceptances already and I won’t even interview until late October... makes me worry about how many spots will actually be left by then 🙁
Don’t worry! This school has 250 spots which means they likely accept probably twice that and it’s still early on so there is tons of seats leftMan... all these acceptances already and I won’t even interview until late October... makes me worry about how many spots will actually be left by then 🙁
I think the tuition is scary to anyone especially with the amount they ask for. For me, it’s definitely scary but everybody that I’ve spoken to says in the grand scheme of things it’ll be fine because you’ll pay off your loans as an attending. I don’t think there’s much of a choice there?what would you say about the tuition? does the 4-year total COA debt scare you? is it worth it? @kartoffel
