One of my friends heard back at 11 on September 4th! And tbh I’m not sure which dates are included

They should have told you when they are presenting yours to the committee, I think. We were told they were presenting on the 22nd...so not sure?
 
What makes me worried about Nova is that each interview day they have 30+ interviewees. So theoretically, they have already interviewed over 300 candidates. I can’t see them accepting too many this early. They are on track to interview well over 1,000 applicants. I mean people are still sending secondaries. Let’s just hope that an early interview here meant high chance of acceptance..

When I interviewed, they said that they interview 800 applicants for 400 seats or something like that

Yes, same here. So they are already done interviewing roughly half of the total interviewees? I mean, like dang. I feel a whole lot of waitlists coming

I think they send early interviews to students who they think best fit their mission. As the cycle goes on higher caliber applicants will be withdrawing their apps/interviews as they are accepted elsewhere. So I think we’re gonna see more acceptances around now with waitlists coming in winter/early spring (just my 2 cents tho)

If you interviewed September 15th or 17th, they said the committee would not discuss your app until early/mid October
 
For people who already interviewed - does anybody have feedback on how the interview was? Mine is October 1st and was wondering if it was relatively formal or whether it was more conversational. Thanks so much for any insight!

For me it was some questions then the rest was like a conversation but I’ve heard in this thread it depends on your interviewers

it depends. My first cycle with NOVA it was more formal, questions after questions. This time around it was very conversational and actually enjoyable, feels less like an interview but more like an office-hour chat with my professors.
 
received my complete call 7/29 and still waiting, starting to think my chances are low after hearing that they already interviewed about half of the total interviewees
 
I feel as though we won’t find out today. Cuz they probs didn’t do anything over the weekend ya know
 
if anyone if interviewing on 10/1 and wants to go through some things together you can PM me because this is my first interview and I am slightly freaking out, lol.
 
great work everyone. we came out strong and immediately started refreshing this page and emails. i for one refreshed my email 27 times. i was worried we’d be relaxed after the weekend but that’s what makes this group special. looking forward to what we can accomplish tm

I would totally reach out to them and see if you could set up a meeting with Jermilah or Jousef. They seemed great during my interview day and maybe can give you pointers on how to get off the WL! If you reach out, they might also share with you your rank on the WL (if its ranked). I agree about the LOI, send one if you really want to go here...sending virtual hugs
