Super bummed. I got waitlisted. Thought everything went perfectly on interview day. Does anyone know how many students they take from the waitlist every year?

you should be so proud of yourself regardless!!! You are doing amazing things <3

Just wanted to say I feel your pain (I’m a reapplicant) but I hope that since you are waitlisted this early on that you will come off of the waitlist and we will be able to call each other classmates in the future.

Anyone else not receive a phone call? I got an official acceptance email but i’m having a hard time believing it’s real i am probably just being crazy but

No phone call here either. You can check your portal to make sure that what you are seeing is true. Congrats.

I am sure you will come off WL soon. Good luck.

I think waitlist movement varies each year (and last year had some), and for what it is worth I think with this COVID-19 cycle, we should expect more waitlist movement as more applicants hold multiple acceptances.

Please, do not lose hope until the fat lady sings. You should be proud of the interview in itself, and I hope if not UF, you find your perfect fit all the same.

Congratulations on your acceptance everyone, if you were accepted don’t forget to check the portal. There’s an admitted applicant portion!
Thank you. Just noticed this statement "Your decision to accept our offer of admission is not binding; however, selecting one of the first three options and paying the seat deposit is required within two weeks of acceptance in order to reserve a seat in our program for Fall 2020 entry".

Anyone know how much the deposit is and whether it is refundable? Or will UF include that in the email with "Next Steps" that was referred to in the acceptance email?

The deposit is $100, I don't think it's refundable but it is "applied to first semester's tuition" (lol).

Edit: Upon checking MSAR, it says the deposit is refundable until April 30th. Could anybody verify this from their portal?

I also received an acceptance email and confirmed this in the portal, but I am not seeing an "admitted applicant" portion when I checked this morning. Perhaps they're still updating everything.

Where do you that it’s confirmed in the portal? When I sign on the portal I see the “admitted applicant” tab and that’s where I see it as being confirmed. Where else could you see it?

That and a copy of the official email under the Communication status link.

I just received the next step email. Is anyone able to open the website for admitted students?

UF Email: COM scholarship application will be available January 2021.

Accepted students page: Here's the link to the COM scholarship application!

Me, on autopilot: *fills out form*

UF admissions office, emailing at 7:15pm: Thanks for filling out the scholarship form but that's the old one, the new one will be available January 2021.

Me, resolved to not do any admissions stuff after getting home from a long day of work. Also, UF's admissions office is so great.

Ha ha. Yes - Not sure if Ms. Hill really replies to all the emails or not, but they are great at replying. On Friday I reported the admitted applicant link showing Fall 2020 entry instead of Fall 2021 and Ms. Hill (or someone at admissions) replied within minutes that they escalated to their web dev.

Hi, fellow students. I am a little nervous here. I submitted my secondary a little late on 10/5 and I just got a call saying that I they want to interview me. I checked the MSAR and they have a 3.91 median GPA and I only have a 3.0, not only that but my MCAT doesn’t exceed their median. I was reassured that they really wanted me and that I only needed to make sure that they were a great fit for me because they liked me, does everyone hear that during the call or do I really stand a chance this late in the cycle? UF is such a good school.

I had the same worries you had (and my undegraduate GPA was even lower!), and it felt like my interview was all for naut. It has been my first acceptance this cycle, with my MCAT far below their median, too.

You have to remember, schools do not have time for pity interviews - If they are extending it, congrats! It means they saw something in your application that they really like and see your potential to succeed in their class. UF has a decently high post-interview acceptance rate. They think you would be a great addition to their school, prove them right! Kick butt and be confident on interview day, it's super chill and everybody just wants to get to know you.

ok well the fact that you even got an interview is extremely telling. My GPA is higher than that and I have a 507 MCAT and haven't heard a peep from UF and probably never will. You're in a safe spot my friend, if you got an interview you impressed them in some way. Also it's not "late in the cycle" lol

Just got a call for a II !! For those who have interviewed, what were your thoughts on the day overall? It seems like a really long day so how did you guys stay alert (coffee on desk?)? How did you prep? Other general tips? I went to UF for undergraduate and loved my time there, so I am really happy to have been extended an interview invite.

Congrats! UF has been the most laidback interview experience for me. It really is conversational and the interviewers try to make you comfortable themselves, at least in my experience. I made it through the day with two Bang energy drinks (not sponsored lol).

I would suggest just looking over your primary, secondary apps really well (maybe skim them 1-2 times a few days before each day) and make some questions for your interviewers that you can't find on their website (maybe parking, clinical curriculum, etc). Be confident and smile! If you are interviewing, they really like you already. Congratulations again, you will do great! 🙂

Thank you! I really appreciate this 🙂 I am scheduled for next Friday and I was nervous it is too soon for me to prepare adequately, especially since it is my first interview thus far this cycle, but this makes me feel a lot better!

Does UF also update the portal if you are offered an II? Worried about missing their calls (if I do end up getting one)...

UF was a bit of a reach school for me with a 508/4.0 and ORM. I take it that since people complete after me have received IIs/As, it's a soft rejection. Congrats to everyone who got in 🙂

It’s not, they’ll review apps until the end of the cycle. They also view apps very holistically so a low MCAT won’t keep you from an II, especially if you have a 4.0 and other factors! Keep your head up, It’s not over yet!!!

Wow, congrats! That's quite a fast turnaround time, hope that means things are looking up for you 🙂
I was wondering though, how did VITA factor into this timeline? Were you sent a separate email to complete that?

I haven't been sent one yet, I should be sent it soon according to the person I spoke to, especially since I have to complete it before my interview date. They also emphasized VITA is supplementary.

where did you find this link? I was just curious and wanted to see what kind of questions they are asking on their financial aid form

Question, I just interviewed here and they said they will give a decision in like 4 days lol. As terrifying as that is, I wanted to know will they call still if they want to waitlist or will they only call if youre accepted. I might need to practice masking my disappointment plus it puts me at ease to have this sort of information. Thank you all for your help!

As I understand from last year’s threads, you MAY get called from your interviewer(s) for an acceptance, and will later receive the email that evening. No calls if waitlisted, but you do get an email.

Four days?! That’s wild! Very nerve wracking but totally better than waiting in agony haha. Good luck buddy!

Four days is incredible, but that's a lot better than waiting months for the decision.

I never got a phone call. Email and portal change later in the evening.

It could be 4 days it could be a month depending on when you interviewed, usually their turnover time for giving a pool of decisions is once a month so if you interviewed at the last set of interviews for that month your decision will in theory be sooner because you interviewed closer to the day they were gonna release decisions
