2021-2022 Drexel

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You can always commit to the master's program and withdraw if you get accepted to Drexel. You'll lose the deposit fees but at least you'll have a backup in case things don't work out. Honestly, as a current reapp, so much money has gone down the drain. I just try to look forward and think about the potential money I can make lol

ALSO i would highly consider only doing an SMP or master's if your GPA was low. If you do have to apply again you want to make sure you spend the next gap year correcting the weakness of your app
Yeah this is what I was planning to do as well as reach out to Drexel. My GPA was not low, but I want to get my MPH so I would be doing that. Have been strengthening my app in other ways this year by getting much more clinical experience. Not too worried about losing a $500 deposit at this point considering the money I've spent already lol

Damn 11 weeks is crazy long to wait. I had a school which I waited about three months to hear post interview also but that was earlier in the cycle.

MSAR states 60/300 get As off the WL. That's 20%. Oh man...
So does that mean Drexel has 300 WL spots and roughly 60 students will get acceptances? Or is that saying that out of the class of 300 students, 20% of the class (60 students) is from the WL? I hope the latter, since that means they likely pull from the WL a lot

From my understanding it means that only 60 people on the waitlist get accepted. And that’s an average could be more, could be less…

Drexel has 300 WL spots.

is a WL at this point more so a post ii R?
Absolutely not. If you look back at prior year threads, you'll see people be placed on the WL in late April or early May, and then receive an A a few days later. WL is WL. If you are highly ranked on their ranked WL, you will receive an A. If not, not. Good luck!!!

I had sent a LOI back in Feb I think, and then was waitlisted in March. Should I be sending any additional updates to express my continued interest? I do not really have any substantial updates to add but want the school to know I am still very interested (but also don't want to nag)!

If it makes you feel better, do it. If not, no worries. Two updates in 3 months is hardly nagging!

If you just go back in this thread, you will see people having success who sent nothing, and people being ghosted who sent multiple updates. Drexel is so behind, and so disorganized, that it really looks like they are not doing anything with updates this cycle. Good luck!!!

Does anyone know if we will be getting anymore decisions this week?

Does anyone know if Drexel will wait to get back to everyone before pulling off the waitlist? Just trying to mentally prepare for a new application cycle lol

last year they did it side by side. some people were still waiting for decisions while some got off the waitlist

Has anyone had luck reaching out to Brian or someone else in admissions? I don't want to be annoying, but I'd love to know when I can expect to hear something...

I feel like Brian’s job is just to give a very vague answer about the timeline (always seems to throw in “give or take a week” at the end of whatever date he says) in an effort to stall and buy the committee some time. I don’t think he actually knows, or has any control over it at least, since every timeline he’s given to friends who’ve asked and others here on SDN has been at least a couple weeks off from the actual time they hear back.

Great username. Also, you are a lot smarter than the character who plays you on TV.
