TBH I really would prefer a hold rn so I wouldn't feel the need to check my portal every day looking for the hold lol
Don’t worry I have a hold and I still check every day because of the smallest most tiniest itty bitty chance it could’ve changed 😃😭TBH I really would prefer a hold rn so I wouldn't feel the need to check my portal every day looking for the hold lol

Is this the same as "processed"... because idk which is worse lol.My app has been “processing” for 5 months now, so rip to my hopes for this school.
I'd say it gets easier, but im 10 weeks out and have heard as much as you lolIn state, mission group, 5.5 weeks out from what I thought was a really good interview. No change on portal. I feel like the waiting wouldn't be bad if we could just be given a solid timeframe rather than the fuzzy-wuzzies of "oh, maybe it'll be eight weeks out, but sometimes people get earlier decisions, but usually most of the decisions happen in spring, but you never know...."
When did you the hold notification go out?Hold Pool 🙃
Interviewed/MMI on 10/14
I’d be curious too because their portal says new letter do not change your file, but if anyone has had a good response for a LOI to OHSU let us know lol. *I would send one asapHas anyone here sent an update letter to the OHSU admissions email/ do they look at update letters?
No notification, checked my portal and it had changed Dec 29thWhen did you the hold notification go out?

Congrats!! What a way to kick off the new year. 🎉Update I received the A today! Still shocked, I initially thought that I wouldn’t hear back until June because of the hold but happy new year for sure!
Gotcha, thank you! Fingers crossed your app crosses their threshold for the A!No notification, checked my portal and it had changed Dec 29th
I Interviewed 10/14 as well! I haven't heard anything back, including a hold. I hope we both get some good news soon!Congrats to all the acceptances! Looks like 1/4 was a big day.
Any 10/14 people still not heard anything? No hold even
Have you tried emailing them at this point?Surely this is the week my interviewer makes it to the committee meeting right? Literal 3 months later? I'm tired and forgot if I applied to medical school or not
This is interesting… I was not told this during my interview day, but it’s good to know, and help set expectations a bit more.Have you tried emailing them at this point?
During orientation they mentioned the committee only meets once a week on Thursdays for like 4 hours. They also front loaded the interviews this year without adjusting the committee meeting frequency so they are behind this year…
I have not emailed yet, figured it would just go to Kari and wouldn't make any impact on my app. Mostly just venting at this point and I do have some actual concerns waiting 3 months for an interviewer to talk about you at a meeting is less advantageous than 3 weeks after. But it is what it isHave you tried emailing them at this point?

I'm in the exact same boat. Let's hope our interviewers' memories are very very good...I have not emailed yet, figured it would just go to Kari and wouldn't make any impact on my app. Mostly just venting at this point and I do have some actual concerns waiting 3 months for an interviewer to talk about you at a meeting is less advantageous than 3 weeks after. At least its not uncommon! Wishing us both some very expedited decisionsI'm in the exact same boat. Let's hope our interviewers' memories are very very good...
Kari had to step out so we had someone who is more involved in the interview screening/scheduling answering questions from us! Not a formal part of the interviews. She was great though and really answered the questions. This is interesting… I was not told this during my interview day, but it’s good to know, and help set expectations a bit more.
It makes sense. I'm sorry you have to wait so long. Wow that is very interesting.Have you tried emailing them at this point?

CONGRATSSSSSSSSSSSOOS II today
Congrats! Were you part of any of their mission groups? Do you mind sharing complete date?OOS II today
That's what I was thinking. If anyone does it and has success count me in, I just can't see getting any real information from that beyond, "we are working diligently to review apps in a timely manner" etcWow that is very interesting.
What would you guys even write in the email? "I'm just checking in to see the status of my application?" I feel like from the committee's POV, they would just think something like "be patient, we'll get to you when we get to you." What do you guys think?
When was your orientation? I interviewed the last week of October and all I remember them saying was that they'd like to get us decisions in a "reasonable amount of time," but they were unable to provide any details about what that timeline might actually look like.During orientation they also mentioned that their goal turnaround is 6 weeks, but realistically due to them being behind it will be closer to 8 weeks, and if you haven't heard anything after 8 weeks you can reach out.

Ah so very recent! Well I hope you receive a decision more promptly than me!Monday!
Same group! Have you had your interviews already? If not, best of luck to you!Monday!
Hope this unleashes IIs hahI recently heard from my physician (I'm a scribe at OHSU) that a physician who just happened to be on the main admission committee just left for a new job offer in DC. Hopefully that's why things have been delayed.
