2021-2022 TCU

“The first class will be comprised of 60 students. Total enrollment is expected to be 240 students by the academic year 2022-2023.“

Is this saying by EY2022 the whole program will have 240 students, or an increase in entry year class size?
no, 240 = 60 per year and 4 years worth of students.

you got this! As I said earlier in this thread, if they don't like you, did you even really want to end up there in the first place (like if you didn't fit what they were looking for or their mission statement). I know we are all begging for a spot at a school, but we are all amazing!! THEY should want US :)
You're right and thank you! I might be a good fit for their mission but I'm just scared of messing up when I'm nervous lol. Thanks for the encouragement!!!

Eh, the 3 minutes goes quick. Don’t worry about stumbling. Pretty sure I sounded a little dumb during mine. Oh well, if they don’t want me then it wasn’t a good fit like @amiejjj said.

Do you know when they started to send IIs? Also, how are you liking it so far? Congrats on your first week!

I believe IIs started to go out around mid-September last year. And thanks! I love it so far -- everyone has been so welcoming, and it's very clear that they care about our success and wellbeing. No complaints :)

Would something like cell biology be able to be counted in place of physiology? I got a lot of anatomy in my Bio 2 course and was wondering if that + cell bio would work.

It has to be a mammalian or human physiology course, and genetics is also a pre-req.

Do you think you killed the audio secondary? I’m worried I didn’t do so hot, do you think that alone counts me out?

I don't know a single person who was like "yes I absolutely CRUSHED that". It's an unfamiliar format and it can be disconcerting that you can't go back and review your responses. I thought I did okay. I rambled a little bit for sure, but I think my answers were genuine and true to my personality. My goal was to make sure I answered the prompt while keeping my response conversational. I used my "thinking" time only to jot down the prompt so I made sure to answer it. And no, I don't think it counts you out! Wishing you good luck in the process :)

Does anyone know if human genetics can be used in place of genetics?

when it says "If using a two-part combined anatomy and physiology course to satisfy the physiology requirement will require the completion of both parts of the sequence (e.g. A&P I and A&P II). Drag and drop the second course into the physiology requirement" does this mean that both parts are required? I only took the first semester of A&P and it says only 1 course is required but this statement makes me think it wants me to have done both to be considered.

LOL, I took both parts but did not see that instruction when I filled out that section. Whoops.

That statement reads to me as yes, both parts are required.

I put down that I’ll be taking A&P 2 in the future. I have A&P 1 complete but they require both parts!

the secondary is only audio responses, correct? an advisor told me it was audio and typed responses, but I feel like that is wrong

Felt like I butchered those secondary responses...

Also another MS1 here to answer any questions. Seeing the page just want to reiterate that tons of people in our class that I have spoken to felt that their secondary was not their best moment It is meant to be spontaneous so just do your best! Only advice would be to skim the school's mission statement beforehand.

oos just received secondary today. I'm a little confused about the audio recordings. Will we have time to think it over before we speak?

you have a minute to read & reflect on the question and then 3 min to answer the question. there's a practice question so i'd highly recommend doing that to get a feel for it!

Hello all. One of the secondary questions asks: Did you attend a junior/community college during your undergraduate years?

I took classes at a 2-year, associate-granting campus of a larger, 4-year university. Would this be considered a junior college?

Thanks

Haha I totally bombed the secondary... 2nd question had an extra 1 minute to answer, but I totally blanked out so I just submitted it and for my third answer I felt like I just spoke filler words without actually answering the question.

I was doing decent until the last question. First I messed up by saying something stupid before I corrected myself. Then there was like a 3 second pause in the middle because I didn’t know what to say. Still I’d say it was a better attempt overall compared to last year when I applied.

To those worrying about pauses/saying something wrong: It's supposed to be more natural. Nobody answers perfectly, and I doubt the expectation is such. Keep your heads up!

Also: I really liked this secondary. Felt more authentic than copy/pasting pre-written essays.

For some reassurance, I also thought I bombed the secondary. I stuttered and ultimately didn’t feel like I got my points across. But I ended up getting an interview, getting accepted off the waitlist and I’m now a current MS-1! This school is extremely holistic and looking for a specific type of student. The other parts of your application mean a whole lot more so don’t stress out about it :)

I completely messed up and didn’t even get to respond to one of the questions. Looks like I won’t be applying to this school sadly. Good luck to everyone else.

for a course in Physiology, I took that in the "Human Structure and Function" course. do you guys think I need to attach the syllabus for that or is it clear that it includes physiology?

EDIT: also do we have to upload our picture somewhere?

The secondary was rough for me too but at least I got through it and was able to sort of answer all three questions....how eloquent my answers were though I have no idea :nailbiting:

Loved reading your post! Gives me hope haha. When you say specific type of student, what type exactly do you mean?

Just a note to all applicants, take a breath and enjoy our secondary. It is meant to be unique and gather information from you that wasn't included in your primary, please do not overthink it, be yourself!

Hi current MS1 I looked on the website and I believe the deadline to submit is by December 15, 2021. Hope that helps. I would try to submit earlier if you can!
