You indicated that you're "getting desperate" to the point where you would apply Hackensack, implying that it's a bottom choice...in a thread dedicated to Hackensack, full of applicants who would be happy or even thrilled to attend. It's just kind of tone deaf. Has nothing to do with a particular coastal attitude lmao. Their deadline is 12/1 according to MSAR, good luck!

The deadline to submit your primary is 12/1/2022 and the deadline to submit the secondary is 12/8/2022 (found both of these on MSAR).
Regarding additional requirements, they are pretty strict about LOR requirements. On MSAR it says they take a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4.
The types of letters they take/require:
-one from a health care professional (does not need to be a physician- can be anyone in healthcare)
-one from an academic professor
-one from these or another appropriate source: a physician, a second academic professor, or a supervisor

lastly, if you have a committee letter it can be accepted as long as it has the above letters

I don't think this was your intention with the post but it just reads a little weird? It seems like you're treating it like a safety/throw away by saying you're considering applying here because you're desperate. There's a lot of people here who would LOVE to go to this school so it just seems like you're implying that this school is the bottom of the barrel. I think I can speak for the majority of us when I say that there are a lot of people on SDN in general who are feeling desperate and anxious with respect to this cycle and your post had me reading it 3x times because the tone felt slightly off?

Finally verified. How long has it taken most of you to hear back re IIs? I'm hoping that since its this late in the cycle, it won't take them that long as there shouldn't be tons of more applications.

thanks for the info, apologies to the thread for some clear differences between intent and perception. i'm just a lil' rascal trying to get a foot in the door to medicine; we all know this is a difficult that sometimes brings out a weird side in people!

Did anyone hear when decisions would come out during their interview?
 
How long after getting the "preliminary review complete" email did people get interview invites ?

Also have not gotten a second interview. My interview went very well and I grew up 30 minutes away from the school so I don’t think they would immediately reject me. Choosing to think that everything will be fine.

i’m pretty sure they said that not everyone gets a second interview! i think they only do a second interview if they want more info

Does anyone know if they provide breaks for the holidays at all considering the 3+1 curriculum? I know they have a 2-week break between M1 and M2 and dedicated step studying time, but I did not see any time allotted for a potential winter break even if it's small. Just curious if anyone knows anything about this

yea you get a week for winter break, a week for spring break and a week during the summer. Though just because there is a break doesn't mean there isn't an exam the week after. Tbh not much breaks during the year, its a real grind
 
Also, totally unrelated but for anyone still waiting. I recently had the chance to talk to an admission representative from Hackensack. They told me that they recently changed the software that they use for screening applications, so they are behind compared to their schedule last year.

Other highlights:
- Rolling Admissions
- Interview is steady until around March
 
Complete 11/13, I just received an email saying I meet admissions requirements, my file is being holistically reviewed to determine if you will be selected for an interview, and I'll remain in this status until selected for an interview or the admissions cycle closes. Should I reach out with a letter of interest or should I just leave it to the II gods?
