Got an emailDid you get an email for the hold or was it on the portal?
Sorry to hear that, around when were you complete?Placed on hold.
July 11th.Sorry to hear that, around when were you complete?
Last years thread I saw one person get an interview from the hold but most were ultimately rejected pre-II /:Has anyone historically gotten off a Hold here?
I think they accept LOIs/updates after your interview decision if it's a WL. Idk what they said this year but that's what it was 2 years agoAnyone know if Penn State accepts updates? Seems like no but wanted to confirm
7/22 and same.My application has been completed since 7/31. It's been radio silence since! Is anyone else in this boat?
7/12 and same7/22 and same.
Yeah same here complete 10/3 OOSPlaced on hold about 15 minutes ago OOS complete 08/06. Also very interested in how holds work here since the email said many applicants are placed in this category
Silence since I was marked complete on 7/22. Probably thinking not good at this point7/12 and same

I was wondering the same thing...Do they accept thank you letters or updates after the interview?
I sent thank you notes to my interviewers via emailDoes anyone know if they accept thank you notes and did anyone send them to their interviewers? thanks!
Did you send it directly to the admissions email or were you able to contact your interviewers?I sent thank you notes to my interviewers via email
I found my interviewers’ emails in the directoryDid you send it directly to the admissions email or were you able to contact your interviewers?
Yes, mine did the same lol. But it was super conversational and chillAnyone else's interviews not read their app till the actual interview and asked super generic questions but not why med or why Penn State, couldn't get a read on them
I interviewed on 10/14 and had a very similar experience... I felt like I spent more time explaining my application and the questions were all over the place. After the interview and information session, I certainly had mixed feelings and didn't know how to exactly feel about it. I am still waiting to hear back.Anyone else's interviews not read their app till the actual interview and asked super generic questions but not why med or why Penn State, couldn't get a read on them
just got the hold7/12 and same
At least you are getting some communication....Pre-II hold, complete 7/12. I'm guessing this basically a soft rejection?
I think it means you still have a chance!Pre-II hold, complete 7/12. I'm guessing this basically a soft rejection?
Yeah I was straight up rejected hahaI think it means you still have a chance! At this point after sending out rejections, I think they would just reject you if there was no interest.
was it more about asking you to explain your clinical experience, research experience, hobbies, things like that? rather than a why medicine or why penn state?I interviewed on 10/14 and had a very similar experience... I felt like I spent more time explaining my application and the questions were all over the place. After the interview and information session, I certainly had mixed feelings and didn't know how to exactly feel about it. I am still waiting to hear back.
do you mind sharing more about your experience? they didn't ask about why medicine/why Penn State? was it more of you explaining your experiences in different areas like clinical and research?Anyone else's interviews not read their app till the actual interview and asked super generic questions but not why med or why Penn State, couldn't get a read on them
I might be wrong, but I felt like they were reading my app for the first time and just going down the list of my activities. If you know your activities well and can relate them to things like ur strengths/weakness u should be fine. Def know your researchdo you mind sharing more about your experience? they didn't ask about why medicine/why Penn State? was it more of you explaining your experiences in different areas like clinical and research?
