Congratulations and welcome to the PCOM family!!! I am a current first year student and I live with my husband. I would be happy to answer any questions you have about living as a couple in the city.
Oh and don't forget to join the GroupMe for your class and tell your girlfriend to join too!

Hey guys- I wanted to add PCOM last minute but on ACCOMAS it says the deadline passed but the deadline is May/3/23. On ACCOMAS it says may 2022 and wont let me submit has this happened yo any of yalls?
Are you a reapplicant? If so, any chance you're on last year's application instead of this year's? I was a reapplicant and this happened to me too. If you're sure you're on this year's portal though, maybe call AACOMAS?

does anyone know what's the class size at PA campus and how many ppl they interview usually?
How is it compared to GA campus? Thanks
I don't know if the public has this information yet but the first 41 pages of this document share every single kind of stat possible about all three campuses. I will say that the number of LGBTQIA+ people on the Philly campus is WAY underreported. I haven't met even half of our class yet and I can already list at least 6x that number.
In addition to what @Phillyboy81 said, the accepted class is always 270 students. But the actual class will differ. Our class this year is 284. The difference is to account for students who enrolled the year before us (so would traditionally be M2s) but did not pass enough of their classes to move on to second year. When this happens, students are normally given the chance to come back the next year without having to apply again. And if this scares some of you, please know that PCOM gives you numerous resources and chances to remediate classes before this happens.

This may have been said earlier, but what’s the interview process like? Any tips to know about prior to interview day?
I can only say what my experience was like last year but it's normally a traditional interview with two interviewers (I believe it was one faculty and one student but I could be wrong). I'm pretty sure it is closed file and it lasts around 30 minutes. Treat it like a conversation. PCOM just wants to get to know you and see how you will fit in with the school's culture. That said, still do your research on what sets PCOM apart from other schools and have a few questions ready for when they ask if you have any questions. I am a current first year student and happy to do a mock interview with you if you would like! Message me privately if that is of any interest to you.

Completed my secondary since early September, received no word from this school. Am I taking an L or are II's still being sent out and I got a decent chance?
You are absolutely still in the running! Don't count yourself out until the cycle is truly over. I asked my class if anyone received late interviews and here are the answers I got back.

-Person A submitted primaries 10/30, got an interview invite 11/20 and interviewed in January, had to retake their MCAT on 6/5, and was accepted 7/7.
-Person B submitted primaries in December, interviewed 3/23, and was accepted 4/14.
-Person C submitted primaries in September, secondaries in late October, and didn't have an interview until April.
-Person D submitted primaries in early July but didn't pay the secondary fee until late December but they're in my class!
-Person E submitted their primary in October and they're in my class!

Sorry that was a lot lol but my point is that this is n=5 (!!!!) and they didn't give up or lose hope so they are now student doctors!! Remember, this is only those who messaged me and I'm sure there are plenty more of these kinds of stories in my class! Someone in our class even got accepted the second day of orientation in August! It is not over until PCOM tells you it is over!

You're right! Thank you so much for the words of positively towards me and the other PCOM applicants, cheers!

You're welcome! Like I've said, I had to reapply and I remember how brutal the application cycle can be on your mental health. I'm here to do anything I can to help you future doctors!
And to anyone who reads this, sorry if my bombardment of messages is annoying... I'm just trying to answer as many questions as possible from a current student perspective!

How many bars on the application portal means that you are complete/under review?

One of your crew decoded the bars in this post: #202
A few people have been stuck at 2 dark blue bars because a committee letter was counted as only 1 LOR, and were able to clear that up by calling or emailing.

what's been the typical turnaround time post interview this year and in recent years?

For anyone that interviewed already, how was it like? Is it traditional or MMI? Open or closed-file? how many interviews and/or rounds? Also, where can I get this info?? lol

Open file? It is stated on the Interview Information tab (when given an interview invite) on the application portal that the interview is a blind, closed file interview.

Has anyone submitted application status updates and heard back for an interview ? Been on 4 bars since august...

I submitted everything/had everything in the first week of august but was marked as complete on 9/13 bc the committee letter mishap so I’m just.. 👀 lurking

Congratulations to everyone who received an A!! I was wondering if anyone who interviewed on 10/19 or later receive an A yet?
