2022-2023 Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM-PA)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Got an email of an application update and got rejected oof. Lowkey liked it here but it is what it is!
just updating this to say i got accepted to an MD school yesterday even though PCOM rejected me post II. Just telling you guys so that if you get any rejections, don’t take them personally and crush your other interviews! You’ll end up where you’re supposed to be 🙂

didn’t want to start anything in this thread about PCOM. I think that this school graduates amazing physicians and has a great reputation. I just wanted to comment on how hard it might be to deal with post interview rejections and to not take it to heart. You never know what might be around the corner!

Trump's doctor, Dr. Connelly, went to PCOM. Just saying ha🙁

I would be really careful saying this kind of thing, you never know who is on these forums and how that might impact you. Kinda like what our mothers probably taught us: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
Actually Thumper's mother taught me that saying....

Current students (such as me) can write letters for applicants so if you want to set up a call with me, I’d be happy to discuss your application and see if I can help out. I cannot promise it’ll get you off the waitlist but it’s something actionable you can do while waiting.

Is this something that you would be submitting on my behalf or would I be doing it? Either way, should we send those ASAP or wait until a little later in the cycle to send these in? Maybe in the spring time when waitlist movement tends to start?

I have not done it yet but I think I would be submitting on your behalf. When you decide to have me send it is really up to you. Applying for med school is such a game that it’s hard to tell what the best strategy would be. If you want to wait until later, I can let you know if my letter helps anyone who has contacted me to send it sooner. Again, I can not give any guarantee either way.

It's a new account with 9 comments named "Jerseyshore" that's typing inflammatory things about a school on that school's forums, almost as if it's trying to incite a negative response from people. I wonder if there's a term for that...

i was complete 8/8, is it safe to assume it’s probably a rejection if I haven’t heard yet 🥲

most of us are prob complete that date since that is the date they sent out the secondary, which is just a payment that was required to be completed. Hang in there. They don't review in chronological order.

do you guys think no more II's will be going out until after December now?

II this morning! anyone have any advice for what to expect?
Congratulations! If it's anything like my interview last year (from which I was accepted), treat it more like a conversation than an interview. They just want to get to know you and see if you would fit in well at PCOM. I'm more than willing to do a mock interview with you if you want.

Absolutely not! There is still LOTS of time in the application cycle. It's not a rejection until the school has actually rejected you. I have several classmates who did not get accepted until the spring (someone even got accepted the second day of orientation in August). Don't lose hope!!!

I know this question is a bit late but I'll ask anyway. I read the beginnings of this thread and many say there are no secondary's and others say there are. So which is it??

I submitted my payment but it says it's waiting on it lol

Anything else I need to do? Thanks!

i'd email them to clarify what materials are still missing. for me they had to manually change it because the system marked my committee letter as one letter, my application was incomplete and sitting on three bars for almost a month

Hey guys- I wanted to add PCOM last minute but on ACCOMAS it says the deadline passed but the deadline is May/3/23. On ACCOMAS it says may 2022 and wont let me submit has this happened yo any of yalls?

does anyone know what's the class size at PA campus and how many ppl they interview usually?
How is it compared to GA campus? Thanks

This may have been said earlier, but what’s the interview process like? Any tips to know about prior to interview day?

Completed my secondary since early September, received no word from this school. Am I taking an L or are II's still being sent out and I got a decent chance?
Relax. Breathe. Many applications at most schools take 2-5 months to be reviewed. I rarely hear of people hearing back sooner than 2 months after submission.

Great, thank you so much. I am not technologically adept so I had a hard time finding out information like this.
