a) now is when they are offering tours
b) if a person has never seen this part of Texas it will help them make decisions if they have more than one interview

It’s for students who already have interviewed. Once you interview, you’ll receive an email about a tour date. They do them once a month I believe.

They said that after the interview on the same day, the committee will sit down and rank you. That's why they don't really accept LOI's because the decision's already been made essentially. Also, it wouldn't make sense for this in-person tour to have a sway on admissions since most Texans will have to fly there ($$)

Should be open file. For what info the interviewers see, I do not know.

Open or closed only refers to stats (open). So Closed review people only know your essays and activities while open interviewers know your GPA, MCAT etc. There is a perception that people don't have preconceived notions about your abilities when they dont know your stats and treat you more fairly during and after the interview.

Schools dont stop sending emails because it is a holiday. In many cases, they preset up the release of these emails.

I've noticed that schools send secondaries and II's on weekends, so I kind of assume that pre-matching on a Saturday is possible. Still, I am not 100% positive. Would definitely make for a great start to the weekend lol!
