Any 8/22 interviewees get any news yet??

For everyone that already had their interview here, any advice? Also did the MMI operate effectively on zoom? I have my interview this Friday!

Can't speak on how it will go on zoom, but the MMI was nice overall. Read up on some ethics and practice with some videos to get used to the real deal. Most importantly, just be yourself and express yourself professionally.

Hoping today may be the day both 8/22 and 8/26 hear back. A similar situation happened last cycle

The waiting really sucks. I really hope we hear something tomorrow or Friday.

It seems like we'll get emails by this Friday at the most, but yeah I'm tired of waiting lol

Fk same. I honestly don't know what happened...
I have no doubt that there were plenty of qualified students, but Im just surprised I didn't even get a WL. I definitely had to have done something wrong during the interview. I got 3 more tries so far to get an A

Lmao this school gave me a WL. They can honestly gag on it. I’m lib but this school is wayyy to lib for me lol. Good luck everyone

does anyone know how often UIWSOM sends out ii invites? I've been complete since 08/05 and haven't heard anything and would love an interview from this school!

For the interview, is it expected to take the full 1 hour and 45 minutes or does that time include general information regarding the school and maybe something like 30 minutes dedicated to the interview itself? I have a full time job and they don't know about my long term goals of med school.
The whole meeting should take like 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours

Texas schools are extremely biased towards IS students :/
I know, but I have ties to the state and the school. I lived in TX for 2 years, and my brother-in-law is connected to the school. (I didn't bring up the latter part in my application, because there wasn't really a spot for it)...

Private non-state-subsidized schools like UIWSOM can accept more OOS students, as they are not bound to keep it 90% IS and 10% max OOS like the others

Has anyone received a pre-interview rejection? I reached out after six weeks, and they said I'm still under review for a secondary.

That would be rare unless you are unqualified in some way (not a citizen, not enough undergrad credit hours)
You might have noticed they are sending secondaries gradually as they review applications.

Interviewed with this school a few weeks ago. Did anyone else get really bad vibes from your interview? I got asked a question that seemed very anti-harm reduction and very judgmental. Overall probably the worst interview experience yet. Wondering if anyone else had a similar experience?
That's crazy to hear because this has been one of my favorite interview experiences so far. Was it just one interviewer that gave bad vibes? Maybe you caught them on an off day? Regardless, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with it!

I actually really liked the school when I was there. The current students were so welcoming and the staff was great. That was just my experience though!

I enjoyed my interview day there. I've had better interview days and have seen schools that seem better in retrospect, but at the time I was pretty sold on the school. Maybe it's just not your school and you'll vibe better somewhere else
