What is a Kira interview?

It's just the software platform they use for interviews now.

It’s just like the Q&A and information session at any other medical school. They’ll just talk about the school, financial aid, etc.

II today! Yay!!! I'm a bit confused about the Kira interview. Do I only click "check-in" when I am ready to interview or before? I don't want to start it if I am not ready.

I cannot access the page anymore, but I believe that you check in and do a webcam/mic setup. Once you're set up there's a clear button to click when you want to begin

Nope just Kira, they outsource all of their interviews to a third party, probably third world too.

they refer to the secondary portal as the AMCAS portal lol. They'll email you!

For the people who have the virtual engagement day this Friday (11/17), and received the email containing the video links last week, have you emailed them about the links not working? And if you did, have they sent new links? I want to email them about the links not being clickable..but I don't want to bother them if everyone is already asking and they're going to send out a mass email. haha

I replied to them last week and they're aware. I was told they would be "reposted" soon lol idk what that means but probably another email

There's nothing stopping you from emailing admissions, but given the format of the Kira interview, I really do not think it's warranted. They also do not accept updates so I imagine they don't love extraneous emails/documents sent to their general admissions.

Yeah I suppose thats one way to look at it. I was just wondering because I believe for most schools its like a hidden must do. I think I may just send the email anyway just because worst case scenario they just dont bother caring for it, and best case scenario they'll note I atleast did something lol

Yeah the portal won't update until you get the invite for the virtual engagement day. In my invite I had the options of 11/17 and 12/8, so y'all will probably have yours in late Dec or early Jan and get the invite a few weeks before.

My thinking is that its more geared towards traditional questions, since the secondary was really long and they already require the Casper. Idk tho it's odd that it's not clear

Unfortunately CUSM doesn't accept letters of interest, intent, or letters providing updates

record videos! I don't remember the details of timing bc I interviewed a while ago, but I do remember feeling a bit rushed. my advice would be to be as concise as possible!

They sent a follow up email 4 days after for me and it just took you to the secondary portal and gives you an option, only one date was available for me 12/15.
