I think people just looked through last year's thread and predict that the decisions will come out tomorrow or next Tuesday

the committee tends to meet on mondays and tuesdays they send out acceptances, at least thats how it's been in the past. they also take a 2 week break for the holidays. So the only time they'll send acceptances this month will be this and next tuesday.
 
UNC already sent out rejections, you guys are still in consideration for interviews. they're still only scheduling for december so they still have days in January and Feb still so I wouldn't worry too much.

Honestly, just staying optimistically delusion until they send an R, but fingers crossed they keep sending lots of interview invites for everyone still waiting!

Did UNC already send out rejections for November interviewees? or other groups
 
Will they send pre-II rejections today as well?

good to know. just turned off my automatic forwarding off...i get so many spam calls daily. but i'll be sad if i don't receive a call. im going to assume calls are only for A and not WL

I don't think anyone knows for sure because we are just speculating from past threads. Last year, on the first Tuesday of December, they sent out a wave of IIs and acceptances but not rejections (pre-II or post-II)

dang. okay back to acting whack. I haven't had any interviews yet just holds and I know it's pretty late but Im putting all my hope on UNC (I want to move back home so badly) ( I hope they see this and accept me lmao)
 
To level out some of the spin: we do not know for sure today that we will hear anything from UNC. If we interviewed prior to mid-November the school will send you an update sometime before the end of December (source: Timeline for Current Applicants | Office of Admissions). Note that the school does observe a winter break, so you'll likely hear back by mid-December. Historic data has notifications going out on the first or second Tuesday, but there is no guarantee that the trend will hold. Either way, best of luck to all (and know I'm right there with you refreshing this page and my portal)!
 
Maybe because of the transition to the new med building, we will see the first wave next week instead
 
The new med building is amazing. They’re still doing construction on the upper two floors (don’t know what that will be), but I really like the main lecture space and the clinical simulation rooms. I had the chance to walk through last week with a current student.

I might be making this up in my head but I vaguely remember Ms. Reid saying our interviewers would be calling the next day saying “so what are you doing for the next 4 years?!” Implying that we would get the decision letter before they call…..but this was in September so not sure how great the memory is
 
For those who have interviewed, did you get a chance to provide updates verbally during the interview day since UNC doesn't accept update letters?

Good luck to all those awaiting decisions! I remember this being one of the most stressful times of my life back when I was applying so I wanted to encourage everyone to stay strong mentally and not to spam refresh this site (...like I did).

While you're waiting and taking care of yourselves, check out the music video that my classmates made and just dropped today! Super proud of them.
