That is concerning - looks like latest date open for interviews now is early February so it gives us 2 weeks. Really hoping they extend b/c that means that secondaries submitted September and afterwards are DOA.
i received an II back in october and submitted my secondary mid-september, so there's definitely still hope for those who submitted secondaries september and afterward.

the next wave or two of IIs will most likely be the last as i recall the associate dean of admissions saying that decisions will be sent out late january/early february (although they might be late this year as interview dates seem to push into february). hopefully good news is around the corner for all of us! 🤞

Any tips for the interview prep? I have it in a couple weeks and this is my first closed file interview so I’m kinda tweaking lmao

Maybe this isn't a popular opinion, but I sort of prefer closed file. You can really show your passion by explaining what you were involved in and why, and you can steer the convo a bit more. I think not knowing the interviewer can be a bit scary, but they share the names the morning of, so I had plenty of time to look into them. My biggest tip is that it can be easy to ramble with closed file, so practice explaining your activities concisely.

Does UCSF not accept letters of interest post-interview? I don't see a tab to upload it on their application portal...

Unfortunately they also took a while sending out secondaries, like I didn’t get mine til 10/2. Grateful I got one though 😂
They are tearing through these apps for their last interview dates. I feel like a lot of these applicants would have gotten a closer, more intense look had they submitted earlier. Now we know, apply early.

Yeah, I heavily regret sitting on my secondary for two weeks before turning it in.

+1 Post-Secondary/Pre-II R on 12/22. Submitted secondary on 11/30
+1, same secondary submission date. At least I only wasted my time instead of wasting my time and money (FAP).

Attended a panel with a UCSF student years ago and I still remember her stressing the importance of applying early.

I got my secondary in December, I wonder if I will get automatically rejected because they filled up.
I wonder that too. I got mine in late November and I feel really down about it cos UCSF was my top choice (tho tbh it’s probs a lot of ppl top choice) — I just love their med anthro MSTP

hi!! Do we have a sense of which application submission month they’re reviewing now? (gonna b posting on other threads too)

So very confused. Submitted secondary mid-August and have yet to hear anything despite the other week's big II/R waves. Any other August or earlier submitters with no news?
I didn't hear back until about a week or so ago (I got an R) and I submitted mid August. I think they make a list of candidates and they send out interviews from that list until they reach a certain number of interviews/acceptances. So I think it means you're still in the running!

Does anyone know if UCSF values post II letters of continued interest?
