Does everyone receive an email if they were placed on the AL? I never got an email but I checked my portal and signed up for the AL.

You should've gotten a generic "check the portal for your status update" email, but if you havent gotten it yet you may get it later.

Guys I’m so stupid I received the AL email on Monday and didn’t realize we had to sign up for it until today…I ruined my chances didn’t I 🫠

Anyone submit a letter of interest? I thought I remember them saying during interview day that we can send one after receiving a decision.

I did but never received a response email confirming they received it.

Very impressive match list
We usually match good, but this year was very special. We had students match in ortho/neurosurgery/derm/plastics all in one match. It has been a very long time since a prior class did that. We had some big names in this match- a few programs that we matched students in for the first time. It appears EM and psych are disproportionately very popular here specialties compared to most schools. So lot's of good stuff.

I am on the AL and did not receive any email invite for admitted students' weekend, does that mean I likely do not have as good of a chance of being admitted after movement begins?

personally, i wouldnt read into it much. its impossible for us to know, so dont drive yourself crazy if you can help it… although i can understand thats easier said than done!!

Did anyone that interviewed early February not hear back yet? I remember the dean of admissions saying that they let us know by March and it's already the last day of the month...

Same boat.

Omg omg, I died inside when I totally forgot to check the portal but was getting "first look" emails. Thank you my friend!!!
check your guy's portals, I received an alternate list confirmation form. Interviewed 2/11

from what i can gather from last year's thread, it seems that a lot of people Post-II ended up on the AL in April which eventually led to a lot of acceptances in May I guess

does anyone know if attending admit weekend will influence your status on the AL? tickets are pricey and I would love to go but doesn't feel very economically feasible

Did all AL applicants receive the admit weekend invitation?

Based on past years, is there an estimate for the # or % of AL applicants who receive an acceptance?

Tickets are so pricey. I am not going to make it either. But I feel like any and all interaction with the admissions and faculty can be useful if on the alternate list. I specifically remember him saying during our interview that continued interest letters are welcome because they "remind him of an applicant and make him revisit their application." Based on that, I would assume that any interaction would do something similar. That is just a hunch, though. Definitely no evidence to back that up.

Is there an email we should send letters of interest/intent to? I originally wasn’t going to send one because online it says they don’t accept letters but I’ve seen multiple posts saying they take it.

On my interview day, they said that they do not accept letters of intent before a decision has been made on your application. However, if u are on the AL and want to send a letter of interest, it is encouraged.

Ahh ok I see. Do we just email our letter of interest to the admissions counselor email that’s on our portal?

Wait they said they take letters post interview (did not explicitly say u need a decision) during my interview oops

in our group they said that they won't accept without a decision and i'm pretty confident about this. U can scroll and look at other posts about it too.

Yeah, that is what they said in mine as well. After a decision, and being placed on the AL, you can send in a letter of interest. You can send a thank you letter though. Because the interview is such a blur in the MMI, I sent a generic ty letter to Latrice and mentioned Dr. Ellison by name in it. She forwards them to the interviewers!

Does anyone know when they will send more info for this weekend? Such as dress code, times, etc

has anyone who interviewed first week of march heard back yet with a decision?

Does anyone have a schedule of the activities planned for the student visiting weekend?

A tentative agenda was sent out late march I believe.

Edit: apparently AL folks that were invited to the first look day were never sent the agenda for the day. Feel free to pm me and I can share it with you
