Deposit ($500) is required to secure site assignment. Do we think East Lansing will fill up in the next 2 weeks or so, and I should submit preferences and deposit ASAP, or can I wait a bit to hear back from other schools?

Hi everyone, I saw on last year's thread that MSUCOM usually reviews applications and sends out IIs every 2 weeks, so I was wondering if anyone knows if this upcoming week we are expected to hear back about IIs? The suspense is killing me lol!

Hey there, OMS I here. EL usually doesn’t fill up first. In the past years, it has been DMC that fills up first. I was accepted in March this previous cycle and was able to choose EL as my campus. Hope this helps!

That is very helpful thank you!
Out of curiosity, why is Detroit more popular? Is proximity to DMC and Henry Ford for rotations/research a big factor? I would have guessed EL has the most opportunities for basic science/translational research being on site. Is Sparrow comparable in terms of rotations and clinical opportunities?
Thanks for weighing in!

Detroit and Macomb only take (I believe) 50 students at each location and everyone else goes to EL so Detroit fills up first because its smaller. Plus, it's such a populated area. I applied and was on the WL last cycle and EL and Macomb still had seats well into the spring.
They have a video about the sites on their webpage Our Three Sites | MSU Osteopathic Medicine

I asked about scheduling a tour as an OOS student at Detroit or East Lansing, they said the Detroit site is full.

Hey guys, for those who have also been accepted and everything and paid the deposit fee. Do you know how many spots are left for each site? Trying to see if I can be in Detroit.

Take it with a grain of salt it's not official, but it may already be full unless people move or drop out.

What are the chances of getting off the waitlist and how soon? Is there a good waitlist movement here? I interviewed 10/25 and got waitlisted this week. I am kind of scared I won't get off, I want to get off of it soon for my sanity lol.

How did you guys address your interviewer in the thank you letter?

I think they start looking at WL end of April/early May!

I submitted my secondary 7/4 and I haven’t heard anything. My stats are above the schools average. Is there anything I can do?

How long until you guys heard back after your interview?
From the looks of it, they made acceptance calls the second and fourth Monday of October. They also made a call the second Monday of this month. So if accepted, you may be called next Monday. For me, it took 24 days (11/11) after my interview date (10/18) to hear back. Hope this helps.
