Hi there! I was wondering if there is any admitted students groupchat? And does anyone know the specific date of the second look in mid April? Thanks!
There's an admitted students Slack that they will send to you and also an unofficial discord. I'm not sure what the link is but someone can probably send it to you. Second look is 25th-26th of AprilHi there! I was wondering if there is any admitted students groupchat? And does anyone know the specific date of the second look in mid April? Thanks!
Wait were u a deferred decision applicant?OOS A 😀DDD
I’d say about 40 now for acceptances to go out. I’m nervous I really hope we get in 🤞 I wonder if any DD applicants got in from the last batch of acceptances.OOS Deferred Decision today II 1/16. If I'm not mistaken about the interview dates, it seems that the last one was 2/6 and I think people who interviewed on that day already received decisions, meaning that it's likely the rest of the spots will go to deferred students next.
Looking at the admissions snapshot and current acceptances there are likely around 56 more acceptances yet to go out, with 128 students either waitlisted or deferred. But please correct me if I got any of this wrong. Good luck to everyone else waiting!
I'm pretty sure they were typing out the emoji ":"D'D'D (it auto added the " 😀 " emoji followed by extra Ds). I thought the same thing when I first saw it though 🤣Wait were u a deferred decision applicant?
oops no i was just using my phone and it converted to an emoji when i posted!Wait were u a deferred decision applicant?
Has anyone reached out to the school about matching scholarship offers? I’m not sure when/how to go about that
ty so much!!Not a current student but have asked this question!
I hope so!Do we think deferred people will hear back this week?
Makes you feel any better you probably did everything right. I interviewed two years ago, scored as high as I could according to their feedback session, but still was rejected. The process is brutal, subjective, and unfair. You did your best which is what’s important. Also IS WL. Idk what else i could have done tbh
Thank you for sharing that.Makes you feel any better you probably did everything right. I interviewed two years ago, scored as high as I could according to their feedback session, but still was rejected. The process is brutal, subjective, and unfair. You did your best which is what’s important.
Thanks for sharing that. I wanted to ask you (sorry) if they straight up rejected you or u were left on the waitlist? Waitlisted into the lower tier back when they had them and left on until rejectedThanks for sharing that. I wanted to ask you (sorry) if they straight up rejected you or u were left on the waitlist? But I do feel better after reading that
Hey, I just got my scholarship offer. I’m an IS student and got the A back in November, so it may depend. Good luck to everyone!wondering when scholarships will release! it's historically around this time so maybe tomorrow or next week
I also got my scholarship offer too. Is this the only financial aid or scholarship we would be getting from Mich Med if we accept it?Hey, I just got my scholarship offer. I’m an IS student and got the A back in November, so it may depend. Good luck to everyone!
Nope! This is strictly from admissions, so it is the merit-based portion of your award. You now need to wait/coordinate with the Financial Aid office for need-based scholarships/grants and loans, and that will be you full award packageI also got my scholarship offer too. Is this the only financial aid or scholarship we would be getting from Mich Med if we accept it?
Oh they are for sure rolling! I believe they are still coming in. We have a deadline of April 21st to accept, so it all depends. Plus, people turn these offers down and attend other institutions, so that could open even more spots before and after that deadline. If we did not receive a email, does this mean we are not getting an award? Or are they rolling?
literally sameDoes anyone know where in our Wolverine profiles we can see the scholarship offers? I am a bit in shock and would love to see it IRL.

They don't have it in Wolverine profiles yet! They are starting on financial aid offers next week and will continue to roll out throughout April.Does anyone know where in our Wolverine profiles we can see the scholarship offers? I am a bit in shock and would love to see it IRL.
My financial aid info is on the Wolverine site, but I can't accept or decline just yet...
Everything is listed for me, merit and need-based. Still can't accept or decline so maybe they are still finalizing it.Is this for a merit or need-based aid financial aid?
Those averages get driven down by the people who’s parents pay for school. If half of the students take on $400k worth of debt and the other take on no debt thanks to their parents, the average indebtedness is $200k. Add in the 50% of UMich students that are in-state and you can see how the average is $161k. I think around 30% of medical students nationwide take on no loans. For need based financial aid, does anyone know how they determine how much grant vs. federal loan aid you receive (i.e. formula or something)? Given my financial situation I'm a bit surprised at my estimated package, especially considering they say the avg indebtedness upon graduation is ~$161K (I would be in significantly more than this yikes).
Thinking about asking but I definitely don't want to come across as rude or ungrateful!
