No literally I am like did this actually happen?? I think she said portal will update this afternoon!
She told me that the portal would update in the next 48 hours but if I had to guess I think it'll be faster

Congrats!! Any tips on reapplying to the U?
Biggest differences between my application last year and this year were work hours (additional year of working as an MA) and having more direction about what I wanted to do as a physician/why I want to go into medicine (volunteer, life experience, etc)... Also reached out to any resources I could get in touch with at the U to learn more about the school

Keep your head up!!! It can be a long process

Is there any way to get specific feedback about my application/interview? My application is riddled with research at U of M medical school, working with objectively very prestigious people at the U of M and affiliated hospitals, etc. I felt my interview went very well and my interviewers told me I would be a really good fit for the school and that they hoped I picked the U of M. Even 2 of my letter writers have graduate degrees from the U of M, but I was flat-out rejected. Both my GPA and MCAT are above the averages. Clearly, they didn't like something because I wasn't even waitlisted. I'm just so confused. Is it crazy to email the admissions office asking for more information? Sorry for the rant.
Historically they have not given specific feedback on applications. Obviously I can't comment on your interview, but would happy to review part or all of your application if having current student feedback would be helpful. Feel free to DM.

I know the UMN application cycle is a bit behind this year, but waiting to hear about an II is killing me 😵‍💫
As an IS applicant I'm stressin! (submitted in Aug)
Is anyone else in the same boat??
Yes, IS and submitted in mid august. They did skip my submission date according to admit.org so not sure what to expect.

Yes - IS and submitted early August. I'm losing hope for sure

For accepted students - is the "Accept" option in the Offer Response tab a commitment to enroll? I plan to go here but don't wanna hit the big red button until I have all of my **** together 😅

I think it’s just saying yes to hold your seat but until you choose the school in AMCAS it’s not an official commitment

Are we able to call admissions to get any sort of timeline if it’s been more than 6-8 weeks or is it best just to wait?

I wouldn't! They aren't going to see your email and be like "Oh hey we should get back to them sooner". It took 9 weeks for me to hear back but I got an A. Take not hearing back for a bit as a good sign. Typically if you hear back quickly it means R or W.

I haven't seen anything about rejections going out yesterday or today. Isn't it typically the Tuesday after acceptances?

any insight on how financial aid works here? i know abt the scholarships we can apply for and stuff but i mean in terms of merit aid

On the finaid app you fill out on the accepted students site it mentions something about the info being used for a variety of different need-based and scholarships based on achievements/interests (so I assume merit as well)! They also have recruitment scholarships for OOS but I’m unsure about IS. They may negotiate so once aid comes out you could potentially leverage any other aid offers you have! Otherwise yeah those essay scholarships are need+fit based

Does anyone know if we hear back about independent scholarships (i.e. Karleen/Valentine Scholarship) at the same time as our estimated financial aid offer (early April)?

3/6 IS waitlist. II on 8/22. Stings a bit since why did it take SO LONG!!😢

Does anyone know when waitlist movement typically occurs?

The U remains high on my school list tho, but I guess since I’ve been accepted at other schools, I really can’t be all too unhappy about the cycle.

I've heard May since the official AMCAS commit to enroll date is April 30th and interviews often go until the end of March.

I was a waitlisted applicant last year and now I’m an MS1 @ UMN. DM me if yall have any questions

Decisions for Duluth/St. Cloud comes out on Thursdays and TC is on Fridays, right?
