Does anyone know if they would just accept people off the waitlist in March/April? Or is either R or alternate list?

I was waitlisted last year...

From my understanding, they do not start to pull from waitlist until after admitted students rank their top school choice which is end of April. I heard about rejection on April 29th (I think), but I also believe some people who were at top of WL were pulled and accepted around this time too (without getting on alternate list).

After a few more weeks they then send out the alternate list

That's so much waiting time. It basically forces you to have to gear up for reapplying. A frustrating process.

this year we interviewed for a specific campus so i wonder how it’ll be different

Yeah I am not sure - the waiting is tough.

Last year they still had different campus interviews. Pretty sure there was an extra part of the interview for people interviewing at Duluth campus last year, but I am not 100% since I did TC.

oh interesting all i know is that at my interview they told us this is for TC and none of the other campuses so maybe they’ll have 3 separate WLs or something

I believe if you selected rural, you'll be on the WL for St. Cloud and Duluth. So basically whatever you chose as your mission/the campus you interviewed for will determine which campus WL you'll be put on.

Any correlation between interview date and WL ranking?

+1 IS WL from yesterday, 11/13 interview
Curious about this as well, but I have to imagine it's not very strong. But I think it's okay to assume that the earlier you were offered an interview, the more interested the campus was in you. And thus to somewhat infer that you're a strong candidate in their eyes, thus "higher" on the WL. But that's loose logic.

tbf it also depends on when the person submitted and when they had a chance to be reviewed. truly wish this process had any clarity at all lol

does anyone know how frequently they’re gonna release decisions since they don’t have the decision days anymore?

Per cycletrack & this forum, As have been trickling in every 2-3 weeks since December; there were two waves of WL decisions in the last 2-ish weeks. Not sure if there have been any post-II Rs yet, looks like most of them are pre-II. I think the latest interview dates who have heard back are from late November, but they're not going completely chronologically.

Does anyone know if it's uncommon for them to historically reject people after an interview? Do they mainly WL people after an interview if they don't accept them? Just trying to do some more tea-leaf reading on what my WL decision means.

nah they’ve been generous with their rejections in the past especially with the later interviews

My sister got a VM today while she was at work from UMN Duluth/St.Cloud. Am I right in assuming that's an acceptance?

If it is, not sure which campus since the person on the phone said they were from Duluth but when I looked her up she is the new assistant dean for St. Cloud.

Too early to celebrate or no?

- Proud current MS1 older sister 😊

Congrats to her! When was her interview?

does anyone know if the application update is mandatory?

It seems like they have been moving chronologically so far in terms of acceptances. If someone interviewed in October/November, is it reasonable to assume at this point they can expect a WL/R? Sorry if I'm being overly neurotic.

I'm so sorry if someone has already answered this, but does anyone remember the policy on letters of intent? I'm trying to remember what they told us in interviews but it's totally slipped my mind and I can't find my notes 💀

(edited for typos lol)

u can only submit updates until 11:59 pm of the day u do ur mission interview and no letters or intent or interest :/

Are these the dates for interview invites or are those probably done
Per CycleTrack they sent out some IIs a few days ago so there's a chance interviews aren't quite done yet. They've kinda been slow with everything this cycle so maybe they have a few more rounds! Hard to tell since they really changed their whole process from last year.

Had friends who were IS and high stat not get invited to interview until mid March last cycle and they got the A. Things are very slow this year.
