UMN has undergone a decent amount of admin turnover in the last year or two, I think mostly related to the new curriculum and shuffling responsibilities around (new curriculum means not every job still exists and some people got put in new roles they didn't like or had new responsibilities added that they weren't interested in). The people at the top are more or less the same. I'm not sure how much current students are even aware as most of it has been behind the scenes stuff and I've never heard another student mention it. I only know because I regularly talk to someone in the know.
For what it's worth, this has been happening throughout my 3rd/4th year and has had zero impact on my education other than we don't get to rank core clinical rotation sites by preference now and just get randomly assigned a clinical site for core rotations only (essentially all of our rotation sites are in the Twin Cities for TC students though, and you're still allowed to trade with other students). Electives you still get to choose your site because you select a location as part of the sign up process. A 1st/2nd year might be able to speak to if they have noticed anything, but my guess is not because I haven't heard any grumblings.
Ultimately I think it's all a wash - not much seems to be different. We've gained some great people and we've lost some great people, but the day to day hasn't changed at all that I can tell.
Having more experience talking to people from other US medical schools now (residents and med students on aways), I still maintain UMN is probably one of the most supportive and considerate med schools out there. It's not perfect, but I've heard so many horror stories from other med schools and every time I've been thankful that I haven't had to deal with those things.
