II today for end of January, complete on 11/8💀. Feel like it’s late tho in the cycle
Sorry for the stupid question but did you submit your secondary on 11/8? Or did you submit it earlier and then got the confirmation 11/8? Anyways congrats on the II!

Not necessarily about the school but did you get placed for residency?
We’re in our interview season right now, so I don’t know yet, but I am confident. From what I’ve seen/heard from my friends, everyone is getting really good numbers of interviews. Our match rate has been consistently above national average every year, including 99% match last cycle!

Does anyone know approximately when their last interview wave goes out? Do they still go out after new years?

Me. It seems like they already started pulling people off the WL two weeks ago. Sit tight and lets hope we make it out with an A too
yeahh hope something happens today lol. I don’t think so, it’s kinda late of the day.

Does it look like mid nov (15th) interviewees will hear back sometime next week on Monday (Dec 2)?

Interviewed Nov 4th and nothing. Anyone from then hear back?

Also interviewed Nov 4th, nothing yet either. Wondering if Thanksgiving being this week makes it less likely to hear back until after?

thoughts on letter of intent post interview?
Personal fit for the program and why you would like to attend would be better received during the interview instead of letter of intent after. If you have received their decision and are trying to get off the waitlist I would recommend it if you have additional updates to share as well. Goodluck!

Are they still sending out a good amount of IIs? They seem to be getting a lot more applicants this year

Hi y’all, I’m an MS4 at Wayne, feel free to ask anything about the school, rotations, vibes, etc. Good luck to everyone!
Most of the cons I hear about Wayne are in regards to its class size and its strained relationships with Henry Ford and DMC. Have you had any issues due to either of these factors? Also, I've been told that the curriculum has been revamped recently, so any insight regarding how it has been received by current students would be appreciated. Thanks!

Everyone will be divided into “Houses” like Harry Potter so the class size never affected my ability to find my own group of friends. People make friends across houses most of the time anyway through small groups, house events and through mutuals.
Regarding HF, MSU does have priority but we still have guaranteed number of students that we can send there and it’s a decent number for MS3. For MS4, since we start our year earlier than MSU, our MS4s actually have priority over MSU in choosing sub-I and electives (v v clutch). Regarding DMC, I haven’t heard anything straining with them, we still going strong last time I checked.
Curriculum is constantly changing cause step 1 pass rate is something Wayne really pays attention to. Students have differing opinions about it but the school is receptive of our suggestions. It is still P/F which is a huge plus for residency app (I learned that recently), and full scale anatomy lab dissection, which helps a lot during MS3 rotations.

This is extremely helpful! Thank you so much for the insight and happy thanksgiving!

Hey guys is there any hope of hearing for an II at this time in the cycle for Wayne?

On their site they said they’ve sent 940 II and 237 offers. I’m at the stage where I’m assuming their cycle is near the end unfortunately but that’s only my opinion of course. I think last years cycle they matriculated 318 so there’s still some offers to be sent out

Last year they sent ~1,400 IIs. There's still hope!

Recent alumn here: I had no problem getting both of the M4 electives that I wanted at Henry Ford. The only difficulty that I had at DMC was a shortage of pediatric subinternship spots, but with some adjustments from admin everyone was able to be accommodated.

Is it common for them to waitlist interviewees who have higher stats? My interview with the student went really well and I would've loved to go here. Left baffled. LM=79

Not sure but we're in this together, unfortunately. Was also a bit surprised given how I thought the interview went. Hoping for some movement soon. Best of luck to everyone!

Sorry to hear that u guys 🙁 if you don’t mind me asking when did u get that news?

Most people, if not all, who interview after/near Thanksgiving are put on the WL, and will get pulled off as time goes. I’m guessing to avoid over-admit. I know people who got pulled off after a week or two post-interview, so I wouldn’t lose hope!

Could be mission fit? Did you answer their mission questions well? How did the MMI go?

I felt all around mediocre in this interview so the WL for me was no surprise (lol).

I interviewed 10/11 and have not heard anything yet. Should I reach out?

I would wait until the next batch of decisions come out and if you don’t hear anything then say something? Not sure what you’re supposed to do if that happens
