Has anyone who interviewed 11/22 heard anything? I remember them saying this week was the goal.

Students are ranked based on pre-clinical years performance as well as third year and fourth year evaluations from clinical rotations. They’re calculated cumulatively for an individuals overall class rank.

From talking with current students there is an incredibly collaborative environment, and this system doesn’t necessarily breed toxic competition.

From what I recall the class rank is either on your transcript and/or mentioned in the Deans letter, which some residency programs require.
Thanks, this is super helpful.

No, but I am feeling anxious/eager to hear, too! I was relieved to come on here and not see any updates yet.

Hopefully tomorrow we will hear something! Or at least I thought that's what they said!

OOS acceptance, thrilled about it, but got to say communication was very confusing, never actually got an acceptance email or call, but my portal was updated around 4:15 PT. Then received email communication about an invited students mixer around 4:30 PT with the intro, “Congratulations once again on your acceptance to WesternU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest (COMP-Northwest)!” Despite never receiving a previous acceptance email. I felt like there were some technical challenges with today’s decisions going out.

Either way, ecstatic to get in and really excited about this school, but just felt confused about the delivery of the acceptance and lack of call after being told we would be called for acceptances.

Hello everyone! Current 4th year here just chilling before match day. Happy to answer any questions you may have about the school, Lebanon community, or Oregon in general!

Thanks! I just have a couple quick question. How hard is to get rotations in Portland, and do you feel that does the academic grading makes studying more stressful/competitive?

Good luck on your match day

Hey! The rotation tracks are selected via a lottery system. People rank their choices and most get their top choice. Using my class as an example, there were 34 spots in Portland and I think there were ~40 people wanting to go to Portland so only 6 did not get their top choice. After the lottery we were allowed to do some trades between students and some people got a few more Portland rotations that way.

I did not feel like the grading and ranking made things competitive. I think admissions does a good job in selecting students who will fit the vibe at COMP-NW, which is very much not competitive. As a class we had a Google drive full of Anki decks and other study resources we all shared. I think the classes that came after me were more tech savvy than ours and they use Discord 😅

Hope that helps!

Hey everyone! I have an interview coming up on 4/7. I'm suspecting that because it's so late in the cycle, it's most likely going to be for a spot in the waitlist. Any feedback is appreciated!

Wait-listed today. The class is full and I'm thinking they have a really long wait-list.

Congrats to everyone who has received an interview invite and/or acceptance! Current OMS-I who interviewed in May for a waitlist spot and ultimately was accepted in July/chose to decline my other DO acceptance to matriculate at COMP-NW. If anyone is concerned, please know that waitlist movement tends to be swift in April/May so don't give up hope. Best of luck; happy to provide perspective as someone heavily involved on campus.
