No, I didn't get a complete email. But it does say "Your application is ready." and it has a green check next to "Secondary App Package Complete" in the portal. Submitted 7/14.

I’d imagine it would just give you more to talk about during interviews and could demonstrate strong interest.

Think if they had to choose between two applicants A and B who are relatively equal, and only A went to the event, then they’d probably choose applicant A.
