If you applied to multiple programs (eg. Pathways and HST), do all programs have to make a decision about II before you can receive a notice or do they reach out separately?

From what I know they make II and acceptance decisions independent of each other.

Hi I noticed on the portal that it says that updates may or may not be reviewed. I was wondering if anyone who has interviewed gotten more information on this? I know some schools say to update within a week of interviewing or other tips to make sure the update is reviewed. Sorry if this is a niche
 
For people who have experience, how common is it to get an interview to both HST and pathways if you applied to both? Do you find that it's more common that people get interviews to both, or to only one?

Does anyone know if they're accepting a normal number of MSTP students? I heard their entire MSTP T32 funding got cut and are now privately funding it, and they just decided to cut half their PhD students, but are they keeping their MSTP numbers?

Anecdotally, I've heard most places are scaling back MSTP admissions by 30-70%, depending on how severely the T32 cuts affected their program

Does that mean cutting acceptances by 30-70% or class size? Since across the board cuts -> higher yield -> need to drop acceptance by more than desired class size.

Yes, spoke to someone at UPenn. They said waitlists will be long this year. Can't tell 100% until more discussion happens but schools are cautious businesses at the end

I just realized nobody ever responded to the q's about the interview vibes. They are very very kind and they really do thoroughly review your application and ask specific, tailored questions. I feel like I was really able to showcase a lot of my abilities and skills because of the questions they asked. It was awesome and I felt good coming out of it!
 
I interviewed at Harvard with an MCAT a few points below their median. Does that hurt my post-interview chances? Or does it not matter post the interview stage

It all matters going forward post-interview, but the fact you were interviewed is a sign the rest of your app was strong enough to impress them.

I haven’t had my interview yet, but I’m honestly quite intimidated … my MCAT is at their 25th percentile.

On one hand, it seems that Harvard is somewhat more holistic than many other top schools. On the other hand, I am sure that the cohort of interviewees is so ridiculously impressive that I’m going to need a 9.58 Usain Bolt or Wilt 100-point level performance in my interview to even possibly secure an acceptance.

But all of this is better than not interviewing. The athlete who works their whole life to make the Olympic trials, but does not ever qualify for the Olympics, is not a failure.

my mcat is near their 10th percentile and this was one of my most mid interviews so u can take my spot lmao

I was thinking that post II rates include waitlist movement for other schools, but HMS has a very high yield rate so fewer people get waitlisted or accepted off of it.

i.e., HMS and Vanderbilt interview ~850 applicants, but HMS admits 200 for a class of 160 and Vandy admits 362 for a class of 100.

Does anyone have tips on how to prepare for the pathways interview? I’m a little nervous with how people are saying the interview is quite intense
