Last year they had additional questions including about gap years, can someone please clarify if those are still there?

yeah, they also ask these:

Please indicate what you have been doing since the time of graduation until now. (250 words)

Excluding BS-BA/MD programs, have you previously applied to an allopathic medical school, even if not ours? If yes, what year(s), and what was the outcome? (250 words)

Are there any other Y/N questions they ask or is that it?

yes, pretty standard questions about family employment at Hofstra, undergraduate education being interrupted, disciplinary action, participating in a pathway program, etc. if you answer yes, it gives you 250 words to explain.

can someone pls tell me the MSAR stats for GPA and MCAT accepted vs matriculated please!!

If the interview is MMI and they give you six minutes to answer a situational question, does that mean that your answer should fill the full six minutes, or do they expect you to answer for a few minutes and then they'll ask follow-up questions?

can someone please tell me the msar mcat gpa median/averages?

Current M1. AMA (within reason lol)! I know it’s a stressful time so I’m here to shed a little perspective I’ve gained over the application cycle and the first months of school!

What made you choose Hofstra over other schools (if u got into others)

Definitely has to be the ppl and culture. The class is super tight knit and collaborative, by virtue of the small group-style curriculum. Also, Zucker is connected to the entire Northwell medical system, which is vast, so as a student you have an automatic connection to basically every Northwell facility and physician. Whoever you want to shadow or speak to, you’ll be prioritized over anyone else. Lastly, I’ve been loving the early clinical exposure - we get emt trained and start weekly hospital rotations literally within the first few weeks of M1.

What made you choose Hofstra over other schools (if u got into others)
multiple factors: proximity to NYC, connection to Northwell Health, strong research (you can do research at the Feinstein Institutes, Northwell, or the Cold Spring Harbor Labs), and its reputation of having a super tight knit culture

OOS II LM 69 secondary complete on 7/30. Only December interviews were open which is insane.

Congrats to you both!! Do we know if they actually review in order because complete 7/30 and 8/23 is a huge jump lol

Can anyone who interviewed here tell me if there were any current events/healthcare related questions in the MMI?
