2025-2026 Nova Southeastern (MD)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Does anyone else's portal only say "completion confirmation?" I'm not sure where we would upload photos/check our status.

Oh they used the crappy platform for their secondary right? Ellucian recruit is what I use to check status for both programs.

Not entirely sure why it says that, but I think it has to do with your answers to the non-essay questions.

I could be totally wrong, but maybe if you answered "no" to english being your native language, forgot to write NA in some of the textboxes, or answered yes to the criminal offense questions at the end, they manually confirm completion of your application? Again, this is all speculative lol.

The site we paid the secondary fee on because it’s different than the regular secondary page if I’m thinking correctly.
omg thank u for clearing this up i was sooo confused. also says submitted for me. thanks!

+1 IS pre-II R (I did receive an email that asked me to create an account [are you serious?] to access the decision letter.)

on MSAR it says that they only accept "continued letters of interest"... does that mean only post-ii when deferred/waitlisted?

Does anyone got interview? Submitted secondary on 09/15 and no response yet. Strong FL tie.

Hi guys, just like last cycle, I'm here for any questions. Current M2 at NSU MD
I am in NOVA BD-DO and applying for MD. Submitted my secondary in September. No II yet. Do you know when they start interviews?

I mentioned this previously in this thread, but I think NSU progresses their cycle rather late compared to most MD schools. May or may not mean anything, but something to note. Also, their MD school is rather new, unlike their DO school. Saying all this as a FL resident.

I forgot to add that I also have strong ties to the NSU area and I submitted my secondary around early August.

There hasnt been any movement with this school right? Have they handed out any ii?

You can probably check admit.org and see. I know I've said here previously that this school is slow with their cycle, but I'm actually curious if any II have been sent out.

It says there are 4 II's, 2 from August, 1 from October. Other than that nothing.

I just saw this on the website for admissions requirements. I don't have this so looks like this school is gonna be a donation.

Experience Hour Requirements:
  • Medically-related experiences that demonstrate a realistic understanding of the medical profession
    • Minimum 1,000 medically related hours, including 300 direct clinical exposure
    • Minimum 500 non-medically related hours
IS II just now!
also, did you have this many hours? sorry for all the questions, just excited for you and to finally see movement at this school!

No worries at all!
I would say that I didn’t have all the medically related (and pt exposure) hours at the time of submission, but made sure to explain my current gap year job in the secondaries to show that I will have them by the time I matriculate. I tried to show that I learned and grew a lot with the experience that I DID have when I submitted. I also had more than 500 volunteer hours (about 700 or so?). Hope that helps and lmk if you have any more questions!

okay good to know! in a similar boat as you. last question, how long until the interview? like did you have to schedule way far out

do you know if this is the final interview? Or is there also an additional interview after submitting the MMI responses.
I think there is only one interview they are doing and it's the MMI format, correct?

Hi, they are usually a little later than most schools but I am pretty sure they have started interviewing.

I am an M1 student here now.

Regarding the hours, do not think it is a hard requirement, but I will say the vast majority of my class meets it. I would say the average person in our class has taken at least 2 gap years where they worked. Our average age is about the same as the M2 class so I think they have been looking more at this recently.

There are very few (maybe 5-10 percent at most) who came straight from undergrad.

I received the invitation October 20th and had 5 five calendar days to complete. It’s just a Kira thing so I think I sent it on the 24th.

There are a few in the MII class who came straight from undergrad, most have done a master's degree, and some worked in the field during their gap years. So probably about the same.
