What's the price difference? I know BU is expensive.

BU Tuition + Fees = $51,097 (but cost of living in Boston is slightly more expensive)

UConn Tution + Fees = $52,621 (but cost of living in CT is slightly less expensive)

I would go with BU. From what I hear, it's a more "malignant" school but the rep is better and the training is excellent.

Something to consider: At UConn you become eligible for instate tuition (~20K) after MS1. I think that academically the school are comparable, tho Boston is certainly a better location than Farmington.

I got no sense of malignancy from my time at BU, and from talking to many current BU students.

I have heard that they work you very hard during your 3rd year (and I've heard that with the possible exception of the general surgery rotation, you're doing useful/educational work and not scut) with a lot of hands on experience that comes from working in a busy urban medical center. I view this as a positive, as it will be the best training for a future residency, though I'm sure there will be times when I wish it were a bit easier.

You might be right, that's why I put it in quotes. It's sort of a stereotype of the place that might not actually exist anymore.
