Withdrew my acceptance even though I did love it here. In state tuition makes a big difference though so I'm staying in Tennessee
Whew. Just put $500 on it. Oh yeah, feeling pretty baller spending all this money I don't have.
Has anyone heard if scholarship offers have gone out at this point?
I made this same decision and decided on DMU. I'm sad tho because I was hoping to have another Minnesotan hockey fan! Good luck at CCOM!
Would it be safe to assume I will not be getting an interview here? My file was marked complete 10/22 🙁

Has anyone else noticed that we have become one of the most boring threads?

Not necessarily, it took me a little over the 60 day mark to get an interview and just got accepted. Hang in there.
Well, having been accepted to their class I am just reading up this thread in hopes for scholarship news (fingers crossed).
But even without it, I'd say that DMU wins out over all of my other acceptances. With only interview left to attend in Columbus, OH.
Question: Did you, or other "post 60day" applicants have to call to get that interview invite, or did it just finally arrive... and if so at what day? 61, 62, 70?
Compared to the cost of attendance at other schools, I feel like DMU is almost free. I'm seriously going to save almost $100K by going here.

I didn't call I got an email for the invite on day 63
Anyone else decided it would be a good idea to drive in this insane blizzard for 12/21 interview? What should have taken me 5.5 hours is now going on 10 hours and still 60 miles to go:-( have been standing on the expressway for the past 1.5 hours with 0 movement... Really really hope it's worth it.

The interview took place at the Marriott hotel downtown. I got to Hampton Inn at 3am, and due to lack of sleep, I think I was too blatantly honest about some things at the interview, which is not always a good thing. Oh well. Also, we didn't get to see the school nor talked to any students. Maybe I will be less disappointed if I get wait-listed/rejected... doubtful=)I would be curious to know what DMU said regarding your interview and the school closure.

I sent thank yours to my interviewers but I sent them via email. I usually would write an actual letter but I had a feeling the admissions decision would be too quick for them to get there. I interviewed on a Monday and heard back less than 48 hours later. Since its the break you can probably mail them. You can probably address them to your interviewer c/o the admissions office and follow up to make sure they get there.
Thank you. They told us 2-3 weeks, so that should be enough time to send actual mail..
They said the same thing for more group and they got back to me in 5 days.
Huh. I've already sent the cards today. Should I email too, or is that a bit of an overkill you think?=) I would pretty much say the same thing in the email that I wrote in the cards...
i would vote don't, cards do not make a difference in your decision anyway and you don't want to look desperate.

haha it's no problem.
In other news... so would it be reasonable to assume that no IIs are going out until after New Years? I need to pretend DMU doesnt exist for a week so I quit wondering.
I don't know about their hold-list but buying a house while you're in school may not be the wisest decision. Des Moines makes no guarantees as to your location for rotations third year. You rank your choices but after that its a lottery. Forget about where you'll be fourth year. You may find yourself making payments on a house that you can't live in in two years. I have encountered many people who are regretting purchasing a house in med school and residency and now have to contend with out of state rentals. Sorry to get off topic but just my two cents.
Got an II today, complete since 11/14.
Interview scheduled for February 21, will be calling them over the next couple weeks in case someone cancels an earlier day. Interview days start February 1st but all were full.
